Hi there. Some folks and I have been working on "STar Trek: Discovery," a fan film series set 18 years after the events of "Star Trek (2009)" in the Abramsverse. The series will be set on the USS Discovery: NCC-1998, an Enterprise-class (Constitution-class refit). We need someone to design the ship for us.
Required:
Stay true to the design of the refit but with a more JJ Abrams / Ryan Church feel to it (similar saucer, integrated deflector, etc.)
I'd like more phaser batteries on this one than on the "prime" refit.
I'll have to see what you folks come up with in order to judge.
You must have the orthographic views: dorsal, ventral, side, fore, and aft.
NOTE: "Star Trek: Discovery" is only the working title of this fanfilm series. It'll be changed to "Star Trek: (new something)." Haven't figured out that far ahead yet.

Or we can direct you to the 9th Fleet RP section with the USS Discovery NCC - 26850, Ambassador class. One of the members is even writing a book on the first mission and has made a lot of progress and has contacted Pocket Books and is expecting a response in 3-5 business days. Not meaning to steal your thunder but thats also called "Star Trek: Discovery".

He's refering to designing a JJ refit, not the canon refit.

I am the one writing the Star Trek discovery story... and I have worked super dooper hard on it... please don't ruin it for me!!! Make your fan fic.... but give it a different name? pweeezzzeee?

Here's a ship design I have been working on. You're welcome to use it. If you have MSN Messenger or WLM, add me, rynwdhs@live.com.
I plan on making refined orthos to go with the latest stage of the design, the last pic.
1st is front view of v1.
2nd is top view of v1.
3rd is side view of v2, which is a reproportioned v1, closer to the JJPrise.
4th is side view of v3, which is v2 with more TMPRefit-ish nacelles.

I've seen that design before, FarShot. It's a clever design and might work for something else (perhaps an Abram's verse Ambassador), but that's not quite what I'm looking for.

I like your design FarShot, but I don't really see it as an evolution of the Church Enterprise. You design seems to aggressive, sharp lines, etc.
Doesn't mean I don't want to see that ship in BC though. :D

yes... and I suggested we use some hints from the Phase 2 Ent to refit the JJ-Ent...
(I'm just waiting to see the results lol)
hmm... That ortho ACES_HIGH... I think who ever made it borrowed to much from the TMP design than from the Phase 2 design.

I'd imagine they fleshed it out a bit to fit in with the rest of the designs in the book, after all, it was designed for TV.

That one looks really cool, though the nacelles should be broader from the bow perspective... they look a little too flimsy imo. Otherwise I really like that.

Yeah, something along the lines of Josheua's stuff would work. The gripe is is that he's been tied up and busy with other things.

Another suggestion for the design, after looking at Wiley Coyote's stuff, the Discovery should have aft torpedo launchers.
