So one day I was thinking about what I could do to mod Bridge Commander for the first time. The idea hit me: We don't have many music mods for Bridge Commander. I know there have been several mods that put new music into the game, like the Klingon Academy Music Mod, but not many. So I'm going to try to make my own original themes for Bridge Commander.

If anyone wants to take a listen to some of the music I've made, here are a few samples (And please note I'm still a bit of an amateur):

EDIT: Did I post this in the wrong section? Sorry if I did, if a mod could please move it...

We don't have music mods because it's technically piracy. You can't upload music you didn't create to a free download site. :P

-
I know, as I said, I'm making my own completely from scratch.

-
				Thats very cool!

-
oh and by the way. in your first piece, the electric guitars, can you put the guitars on the left and right speakers? it would have more depth i think.

 My bad, appologies
-
I liked the second one, could be useful.  Could you come up with a music composition from a video?...an incomplete video I might add.  I'll PM you for further information.

-
				Now this, I like. :)

-
@JTK That first piece is going to be in another completely unrelated project I am working on. Good tip though, I'll keep that in mind when I recompose it.

 @Kirk No problem :)

 @Cordanilus I can try.

This is great, have a cookie!! I'm in the process of making a star trek show for free, and honestly music is the hardest to do since i'm not an artist. Would you consider joining up for a 30 second music intro?

-
Sure, I can do that. :)

-
Oh man ! when I listen to the second one I think Mass Effect meets ST ;) great tune really, would be even better if you could smuggle some recognizable motives from any Trek music ;)

the first one could be easyli transformed into cool Klingon tune (just listen to Klingon battle from ST TMP... it would be epic with electric guitars and some more cool stuff in it, like Jimmy's Hendrix 'All along the Watchtower' performed by Bear's McCreary team for BSG soundtrack)

got to admit what bankrupt said, music along with bridge modding is the hardest thing to mod although bridges are hard technically, music is hard to get feeling of it and fit it to overal atmoshpere and so I'll give you cookie aswell for starting something really new and fresh ;)
-
Mass Effect and Star Trek meeting...*drools*

I agree, music is pretty hard to come up with, and there are a lot of factors involved. I'm about to ship out my first piece, and everyone gets a preview :)
-
Music for Starbase 12 is here.

-
I have Guitar Pro 5 with all of the add ons. I made some songs but I cant find them in the HDD (its mess like the Universe  :funny ). Now at the moment everyone sleeps except me and I will here the music maybe tommorow.

-
my friend Toa_Kaita ( i know him as thedarkarcon4 ), has created a music piece that just inspired me to bring back my little BC Pegasus Series. With his permission, I have used his music creation as a foundation for the USS Pegasus. It fits just beautifully.

copyright rules say: As long as the persons involved do not sell the said item that they do not own at a price, the copyright is not valid. If it is sold and the holder of the item still has a copy of it the copyright is valid. I take no side, this is just a rule, i will not argue

I've had some free time during the holidays, so here's my nebula piece. Note that my music is very different from the normal orchestral scores you would hear in Star Trek.

Alluding to that, I prefer the second piece much more over the first.  I would rather see you do more orchestral stuff.  If you made more music like that, it would be perfect for a new Trek game.

Now I don't want to get ahead of myself, but have you heard of Star Trek Excalibur?  It's a new game made completely from scratch.  They're looking for a composer.

Indeed I have heard of it, and if I'm not too busy with my other projects I'd definitely consider composing for them :)

The reason why I add more synthesized elements to my music is to try to create a new atmosphere for Star Trek, to make it sound...ah whats the word...more futuristic than normal. Of course I do want to keep the grand orchestral themes, because Star Trek without a grand orchestral theme is like Captain Kirk without women. It cant be done. :D

I apologize in advance if this counts as a necro post; I havent worked on this mod in a while, mainly because Ive been busy with other projects, but I've decided to start this up again with a twist. As per request, I am going to make two versions of this mod. Version 1 will have synthesizers as the dominant instrument to try to create a more futuristic feel for the game. Version 2 will be more orchestral, more beautiful. Im going to be incorporating the style that me and my friend use to write the music for Earth-Link: Zero as I write the orchestral bits.

So heres my first and second Mission 1 piece.

It's your thread and your project so it doesn't count as a necro post. :)

OK, thanks Dalek. :) Oh, and be sure to play the file before you replace it, because there's an issue with the program I use that sometimes exports the music file as nothing. If you encounter this, reply ASAP. Ill fix it up right away.

-
				i like its very much.

-
Thanks, and I have a logo for this mod now too :)

Just an update: Should have Mission 2 pieces (synth and orchestral) complete by tomorrow.

Ahh but it isnt just music going to a freedownlaod site, its a music modification for a game ;) also all star trek games music tracks can be ported since its all owned by CBS/Paramount, so say he wanted to get some STO music he CAN port it :P

I like but I think somthing is missing. I don't know h9ow to read music so I'm not sure how  to describe it or what vanacular to use. The best I can com up with is  that the score doesn't seem to go anywhere which even when I here it doesn't seem to make a lot of since. I think it has somthing to do with where vocals would go. I have posted 2 links from youtube that I think musicaly show what I'm talking about since words seems to fail me here. keep up the work man.

-
Thats sort of the purpose of the music for BC, its not meant to go anywhere; its just scenery in a way.

-
				Precisely, Dalek :)

Here's mission 2, synthesized. I also plan to redo my Starbase 12 theme later, since I wasn't quite satisfied with it.
-
And the orchestral piece, since both were to big to fit into one post...

				Holy Thread Revival!

Ive recently decided to pick up work again on this mod, though I am finding it extremely hard to come up with "original" themes. So, I've decided to re-compose some themes Ive heard from various sci-fi shows and use them as placeholders, if you will, until I can rack my brain with original themes for everything. So on that note, is anyone here by chance a fan of Bear McCreary? ;) (This piece is the orchestral version and is incomplete; I am still adding things to it such as drums and different instruments, but I am making progress.)
-
You kidding? BSG's soundtrack was godlike! Good to hear you're getting back into this project though.

-
Bear is my favourite composer, he's friggin' awesome.

You should hear my mate rip up Prelude To War on the electric guitar. It's incredible.

Episode 1 Futuristic Feel puts me in mind of Metal Gear Solid.
-
I really like both of these, but the second one really has a nice professional feel to it. I agree with JamesTiberiusKirk about the guitars. Maybe add some reverb to them and pan the effect to widen the image. Looking forward to listening to these in BC.

 Have a cookie.

that would be a solid yes...

ya he is...  amazing talent for someone relatively young (being 31 now, but mid to late 20s during BSG) i think after BSG, he is set for life!
(and he is a total hottie lol)

(and he is a total hottie lol)
 LOL!  :funny

Im still learning the program, as I dont often use it except to compile sounds and music for my animated movies, but Im definitely looking for a way to add more reverb to them.

And thanks for the cookie, furswift. :D
