Here is a TOS era thru-deck carrier design I have been toying with. Please let me know what you think and if I should continue to develop.
-
Nice... but I'd flip the bottem warp nacells right-side-up.
-
that looks nice, keep it as it is.
-
Love it!
I've an idea, why not attach different modules to the upper connection?
I love the idea of the ship even without the upper section.
-
That is one TOS battle ship. The best and powerful. I like it very much. Cookie :)
-
Love it. I've really enjoyed your TOS ships. Want more.
-
Thanks Guys! Glad you like it. Here is an update:
-
you are very fast and i love your tos ships! keep em coming!
-
Awesome ship. The best TOS ship. And Cookie again :)
-
Really do like this, However we sure need a god TOS era fighter for this.

Agreed.
Otherwise, shes a nice looking ship. Always love your TOS ships.
-
Thanks again guys. Actually I was thinking of doing the Penguin Fighter from the Starship Schematics Database to go along with the carrier.
Edit - Oh yea, ship in game:
-
Nice! :)
-
Hey man, i kinda stole this design, here

Aside from both ships having 4 nacelles, a saucer and 2 stardrives, I don't see any resemblence whatsoever.
-
Here is the TOS Penguin Fighter that will be released with the TOS Carrier.
-
Lookin good.
-
not to hijack anything, but there is an unfinished carrier and some shuttles that someone named lord schtup started but never finished for SFC. I was able to find a screencap of the wip (there should be more around) and one of the shuttles. This wasn't the only shuttle either.
I've also included a TAS chart, it has some shuttles that certainly have never been done and could be usefull directly or as a base for something new.
-
Thanks Starforce, that carrier design is awsome. The TAS shuttle chart will certainly come in handy.

New fighter, "Lightning"
-
Looks like heavy fighter/bomber to me, great work ;)

-
My thought as well as far as a heavy fighter bomber. I think it fits better tan the Penguin fighter which is a pre-tos design.
Glad you like it.
-
too bad no-one finished the Kittyhawk. that looked good.

Hear is an update on the Lightning fighter and some background:
The class was designed during the Klingon War by an engineer who was fascinated by the fighters of WW II, but stayed on the drawing board as it was thought to be somewhat of a novelty. But as the war progressed Starfleet Command put out a request for a new fighter to escort landing hoppers in battles where transporters could not be used due to dampening fields. Due to the urgent need for a fighter and the Lightning's other wise sound design, it was dusted off and put straight into production. It did not take long to realize the ship was all so useful as an interceptor and an assault fighter due to its relatively heavy armament and shielding. The novelty had become an extremely effective fighter so much that it is still in use today by many starbases and in planetary defence forces.

P-38 Lightning?
That WWII fighter?
any way, maybe a nose cannon, like on the P-38
and bombs using the pulse function under the wings?
and rockets instead of micro torps?

-
you just gave me my next fighter profject with the P38
-
I bet a group of these could bite holes in a D-7. She looks like a quick moving beast! I LOVE IT!
-
hey, deadthunder, you got that P38 pic in wallpaper size?
-
no, i will check airliners for one like it though

-
Such a beautiful aircraft! Wise to base a fighter in space off of it.
-
For the P-38 to ST coversion here is how id do it, the main pyons would be warp engines of course, Id leave the 4 gun emplacements but make them Phaser Cannons instead :D The warp Nacelles would be TOS styled of course lol. the Rear wing would be elevated a bit and a torp launcher on each side of the rear wing for forward and aft torp firing but spaced so they dont fire into the backside of the cockpit but thats just my idea
-
I'd start looking around if I were you. some people have allready converted prop aircraft to starfleet fighters. if FoaS was around, he could point you to some I've seen for that other Trek game that gets modded a lot.
besides, the largest bombers are probably shorter than the diameter of the tiniest warp nacelle :P
-
Looks good!
-
Looks good!
ENT Engines? I would think that the TOS cylindrical engines would be much more appropriate. Nonetheless, you can post the model with each one. But I think the TOS engines would be better.
-
Here is the final version:
-
That design just works for me. I could easily see them throwing that in later seasons of Ent as a background vessel or something. Very nice. +krama
-
The father of the Peregrine class fighter, if you wonna call it that. Time to sink some D7's in the Neutral Zone!
-
For some reason, when I think "through-deck", I think this:
-
Hmmm, most likley called "through deck" due to the open ended design of the hangar deck, potentially allowing auxiliary craft to navigate "through" the hangar from end to end. Thanks for posting the reference pic, I thought I might have given my design an open ended hangar deck and classified it as "through deck" by mistake.

Here is the Lightning Fighter in-game:
-
Here is an update on the Lightning - Class fighter
-
After seeing that Fighter, I suddenly find myself thinking of the ship props from the old puppet series Fireball XL5 for some reason.
The Fighter is just so damn cool!

-
I like the smoother contours of the fighter. Good Job!
-
Awesome! have a cookie ;)
-
Thanks guys.
