Screen is constantly flickering and blinking or flashnig watever u may call it. it flashes black and doesnt stop for anything, start up vids, menu, in qb, dunno wat it is :wtf

64-bit OS Windows 7
just got this computer and was hoping to be blazing some bc on this huge monitor, i tried to play but the flicker is unbearable, a shame too cus the graphics are so much better than wat im used to on my laptop. help is uber appreciated

I had this problem but fixed itself after changing the graphics options from the Catalyst Center. Try to change the quality level like mip-mapping, catalyst level to higher or lower level.

You might also want to check VSync option (display vertical synchronization) in the worst case GPU processor is geting too hot causing GFX glitches like flickering, might also be foulty display driver so if nothing helps get newest driver

I have never though about V-sync and sounds very possible. For the GPU temp, I think it wont be. My GPU is aways holding on 78-85C and there is no noise even in Crysis on max settings and max overclock and these are normal temps for the 48** series cards.

Lol mine is overheating (due to stock dual fans on card) I had to clock that beastie back to stock GTX275 settings... before overclocking I have to get at least 3 additional fans cuz it's almost 90C on ME2 :O
I had Vsync issues on some games back in 2006 and everytime I switched it off everything gone back to normal :D

well, that would answer some of my questions. mabey the boards are overheating a bit on this thing.

try newer drivers first...
I've encountered this prob a few times before

tryed drivers, all new, tried v-sync and triple buffering, no change, i dont know wat mip mapping is

btw i used rivatuner for the v-sync and triple buffering but not sure if i did it right

i found all the options in my control center and nothing worked, found mip mapping, triple buffering, nothing i did stopped the flashing

uninstall the driver completely and reinstall it....

So nothing seems to help, does it occurs in windows also ? or only in games ? or only in this one particular game : BC ?

as I said this has happened to me a few times in the past... uninstall your drivers and delete what is left of em... reg and all then reinstall them.

which drivers, and how do i delete reg?

talking about gfx drivers... DL the latest drivers from your cards website then uninstall the old ones and install the ones you just Dled...
a reg cleaner like CCleaner.

would the catalyst software suite work, no experiance with ati cards sry

should i delete the driver thru device manager or some other means, sry to nit pick just being picky cus like before brand new comp dont wanna mess something up lol

eh device manager?? you don't delete stuff from there....
go to "control panel/programs and features" find the ATI GFX Driver and uninstall it.

the only thing ATI in there is the Catalyst Control Center

it's called ATI Display Driver... it should be there.... though might as well uninstall that as well...

yea its not, i looked like 3 times, i did uninstall the catalyst and reinstalled, the game runs fine after a fresh restart, but after starting the game 2 or 3 different times it starts doing it again

try switching out of T&L mode?

I noticed that on my PC the flickering usually happens when I have a lot of open windows running in the background like firefox etc. Try closing all windows before you start BC.

i tried with everything closed, no apparent differance, and wats T&L mode, is it a windows 7 thing cus im still trying to grasp my lil mind around this new windows, as much as i hated vista, i was used to it :P

What resolution do you use ? because I have that newest Kobayashi Maru Beta and there is an option called additional resolutions (wide screen) and when I set 1440x900 res screen flickers from time to time (only hud stays)

i sincerely apologize to anyone watching this thread for the wait, i gave up finding a solution and had just gotten a new job and had forgotten about this thread. if he is still watching this to your question my rez is at a max of 1280/1024. also just a note this doesnt not happen with any other game and my computer is not a game super computer like some of u have, stock from dell. besides not being over powerful( its a zino HD) it does rather well under windows 7 with only 1.8 processing power and a mobility radeon. actually i run most games at a rather high detail level with very few and rare problems. i run into more problems just being under 64 bit than anything else and bc is the only game thats given me the most hassle, most games i have to find work arounds half the time cus they werent designed for 64 bit. another note i have an HD widescreen moniter
