Okay, I finally got up the nerve to give Galen's De'shara Warbird a go. :)
Here's my first cut at a low poly version of this design (currently running right under 4K). Intended use is for the Star Trek gaming community. Still need a bit of work here and there.

Hey pepperman! Nice work on the ol Warbird :) I thought you be making the new version of the De'shara haha. but this is still very amazing work man!

I haven't forgetten the new version as I like it a lot. Figured I'd try and flesh this one out first and then work my way up.
-
Haha i see. well you certainly are bringing the ol girl to life dude. Can't believe how much i've miss this version
-
looking sleek!
-
Hey, not bad!!
Cool design... looks like a long range recon vessel. In other words, fast ship.
-
Nice, I like this design.
-
is the head really hollow? makes me hear a "dinosaur scream" when I see that :P
-
great ship , it needs a engine glow and a hardpoint and in rest it's perfect
-
In Galen's original design the head is not hollow. I was having a bit of difficulty getting that part to come out right so I have temporarily left it this way. But I kind of like it. :P
Anyways, here is a link to his work.

Just a very well thought out design :yay:
-
Nicely done.
-
I see what you mean. mabey call the hollow-head version a varient, and keep it handy, while redoing a copy with the solid head.
-
Here the closed version...
-
i prefer the original design hollow , it's more stylish
-
i like the closed, how about just both?

I prefer the closed version.. as I looked at Kaden's design and the scale of this ship is huge... and for that scale I think it would need to be closed to house all the internal crappy's it needs :eek
Thats about as technical as I get ... but I love your mesh, low poly but awsome :)
-
how about a MVAM version whit open and closed , and no animation between
-
i like it open, adds a big romulan type look, not that the closed one dosn't look romulan, it being open adds to the romulan took

Finally got around to finishing the ole girl. If anyone would like to set her up for BC drop me a PM with your email addy and I'll gladly send you the files. The model was done in Milkshape and is running at 5958 poly. She uses two 1024 x 1024 texture maps.
-
Sleek doesn't begin to describe that ship. Very nice model.
-
Well done.
Cookie for you.
-
She looks a beauty Mr. Pepper! :yay:
-
lookin sweet WB btw
-
is there any way you could release the bird in the shade of green seen on the original renders?
-
Not at this time. For me, texturing is almost as painful as pulling teeth without novocaine so making one set is about all I can stand. lol
-
If anyone is interested in using here, I posted the Milkshape and tga files up. You can find them here:
