Title: Solaris Bridge Revisited-LCARS NEEDED.
Post by: flarespire on January 02, 2011, 03:44:50 PM
heres a few screenies of the retexture for the solaris bridge, with alot of thanks to bones for helping get this started.

aside from the LCARS, this bridge is complete.

heres some screenies.

That's great! Nice touch, using the Sov captain's chair!

Is the bridge left-right symetrical? That shot from in front of the pillar, I could be imagining it, but something seems slightly amiss in the alignment...

thats how it is in the FC Excelsior bridge...
i think this bridge is a retexture of the FC bridge...

if it ever gets released, i need help drawing up an msd for the solaris class, getting the rest of the lcars done, and making it a seperate bridge, if ya want bones, i can send over the textures.

well I have already much projects on going but drawing MSD can be fun ;)

send me picture of any side of the Solaris (starship picture) so I can see the shape of it ;)

ah, big problemo, as you can tell from my screenies im on an xp machien, so that means my vista is busted, the LCD screen cracked, but i will hunt around/ find the mesh and get a screenie for ya, maybe we can rebuild her, but aligned properly some time?
if we do, the rest of the ship has to be at scale with the CG sov's nacells, just as a side note there.

you cant expect others to do all the work and then say it is "your" bridge lol :P
youre better off trying to do your own lcars, how else to learn but through trial and error?

yeah, through the processor i have, running a program like photoshop drains it, bc is fine seince it runs through my GPU only, but trying to make my own LCARS is like asking a snail to give up its shell(bad analogy...)

Then why do you use PS ?!?!? use Paint Shop Pro - cheap alternative, it's really good for vector drawing (all you need is vector drawing to create LCARS) I work with old good PSP 8.10 Try and Buy (upgraded to full license) which you can still download and have a 60 days trial ;)

I am always eager to help people as much as I can but I also encourage them to work on their own so I have to agree with Jimmy, try l)

As for Nemesis LCARS, look on KM Sovereign bridge or mine PDW Excelsior bridge, both have different types, both are NEM blue LCARS ;)

is a problem within the processor itself, its wearing down, and the VMM goes everytime i open up something like PS, MSpaint is the only thing that loads up, its really annoying me, but dont worry, im gonna start work on a new, more powerfull desktop, and by then ill be ale to make lcars screens.

bones, its an 800 MHz(approx) Intel celeron, thats had its best days, and is now starting to degrade, running graphics programs like that causes it to degrade faster, ill be able to do all stuff like LCARS once ive built my new rig.

even that old CPU won't degrade THAT fast ;) tho working on it might be tricky

id forgotten to mention this pc is around 6 years old, and has had its share of breakdowns....

Yeah, well unless you keep CPU temperature down it won't get any harm ;)

i did manage to slow down its rate or degradation, but fixing the fans cable, but its still degrading quite fast....

guys this thread is starting to sway offtopic...
please keep this about the bridge...  any other problems can be for a different thread in a different forum...
