Apparently it has. Clinking on the link over at bcfiles leads to a "file not found" page. When I contacted Gamefront support, they stated the file was deleted for "one reason or another", and made no mention of restoring the file. That makes me worried about the security of other files on the site.
-
Sounds like a default answer from them without really checking.
Have you tried to download any file lately?
-
this is why we need a new bcmods hosting site/service, gamefront is getting ridculously lazy in theire data management. :banghead:
-
http://www.star-trek-mods.com/ exists.

Tried finding Blackrook's Intrepid Class pack, that too had been deleted. One wonders how many other mods are now missing?
-
I don't believe they have been deleted. I was unable to download any file, so they probably just messed it up.
-
I just found both, guys.
-
though this database error doesnt seem to even have been looked at, maybe we should start hosting the mods here? after all we are bridge commander central....its kinda in the name that we should.

Could you give a link, I'm still getting the error page.

umm no we "shouldnt" and besides it is not possible (you assume we havent already discussed this?)
there are far too many mods and the database for this site is not infinite, you know...
anyway, moving on from that...
i gotta ask, why go for C2X warbird when it is merely a slight retexture of the stock warbird? there are much better models out there...
incidentally, that warbird does no longer exist on Gamefront's site - this much i can confirm...
-
I know that, I just wanted to play with that model. Nostalgia basically.
-
Next time, try talking to us BCFiles people before going to Game front support, GF afterall consists of dozens of sites and millions of files, it's unlikely that they know what's up with every single one. I'll look into the C2X warbird when I get the chance, but in all likelihood it's just gone corrupt, that file was probably 7-8 years old and with all the stuff that's happened to the network in the past couple years, I'm not surprised that a few files have gone missing.
-
Actually I can't seem to download anything now, so many the servers have gone screwy. I hope we didn't just lose everything.
-
IIRC a few of us preped for this last year and DLed all the mods.
-
Ok, I don't know what's going on here, I'm just a file poster, so I don't have enough access to get at the website code, but from what I can see, it hasn't been deleted, the file admin system still sees it, but it seems that the download site can't find it, this is probably a temporary hiccup with Break.com, don't panic.
-
just tried to grab some ships required for a beta I'm supposed to be testing. same problem. the file is pointing to a "no destination" page for a download.
I can see you guys have done a revamp, lately, as I'm getting a "this is your first visit" listing...and I've been there since august 09.
-
Well generaly, If I get one of those 'file not found' I refresh about 5 times , if still no go I exit the page come back later in the day. [see being on a SLOW dialup connection for years prior to now, Helped me to develope a Habit pattern, OH btw I am on DSL now :D

that method doesnt work when on the download page itself... what youre talking about is the file page not the page everyone else is talking about...

OOpps, your right, I was put off by How panicky everyone seemed.
-
Could be a problem on gamefront's side when filefront servers transfer users over to them.
-
I talked to Atomic Danny, GF is trying to fix this as we speak
-
Thanks, it's good to know someone in charge is aware of this.
-
well im a little aggravated as GF deleted ALL my mods.
needless to say i switched to rapidshare....

Click the download tab on it's BC Files page, and I gurantee you that you'll get to it without any problems.
-
Shows up for me without any problem :)
-
It appears to have been fixed now as some of the download numbers have been reset.
-
i don't think anything was actually DELETED. I think the download page was out of service.
-
Yup it's all back
-
I get the error again..
-
Have you tried refreshing a few times???
-
Refreshing doesn't work there.
Edit: Some files seem to work, what does not work are WCs ships:

But these direct links do work (at least for me)

Yes, but not the regular download link.
Btw the gamefront link does not work when I click on it, just when I copy & paste it. Browser is chromium.
-
Yeah I seem unable to download sfrd's uss stargazer. This is so irksome.
