Title: Stock Starbase Removal
Post by: FlowrellikX on January 16, 2012, 12:47:21 AM
Ok, I know for a fact that stock starships can be removed, but when I did the same method to a Starbase, I get the black screen -_-.
Does anyone know how to remove stock starbases?

we ran into this little problem involving Kobayashi Maru's Junkyard system upon replacing the Stock kessok ship with The Unknown's beautiful replacements.  if i remember right, it involves some script editing.

If I'm not mistaken it's all about system, stock starbase is used on several system in KM and in at least one system in stock BC - namely in Starbase 12 system, editing that system script to load different/replacement station should do it but beware, it might also cause some additional problems with the system itself (unable to dock, crashes to desktop, etc. ... not to mention mission scripts ...)

I think it would be easier to get replacement starbase model, rename it to stock model's name and then overwrite it, do the same to hardpoint and you should have it done, still you might get problems during SP missions (ships positions and docking)

I understand that, but I mean the other starbases (Mainly the Cardassian starbases and the Arrays)

works just like fed starbase, even more important becuase those are very common in stock star systems as well as in custom system (CJones pack, Banzai Zap pack, KM maps, etc.) so you would have to replace all the scripts but why replace scripts while you can simply rename the model you want to be in place of the stock one... easier and quicker ;)
