I'M BACK !!!
It's about time to finish those before they get lost in electronic oblivion :P
here a pictures of already converted/not yet in game Alliance ships...
from top to bottom :
Dreadnaught ... or Dreadnought (or whatever it is spelld) - ship is around the size of SR-2
Cruiser - around 500-600 meters long, heavily armed
Command Ship (I believe this was the ship Hackett uses ... or was it cruiser ??? one is for sure, it is really tough and armed to teeth and is around 800 meters long)
Dreadnaught

Command Ship

Neat! I know it's small, but I hope the fighter is on the docket as well.
-
Yes, Fighter comes in two variants, Cerberus advanced fighter in Alliance Colors and Alliance fighter ;)
Also I'm trying to keep Kodiak dropship's guns from crashing model whenever I try to load it they just come off of the model and fly at constant speed then boom BC crashes :funny
So far I have 5 Alliance crafts converted to NIF, half of them are being scripted with all speculars ready, fighters are still to be retextured.
-

That's...weird :lostit:
-
Wait a minute... the dreadnought should be the gigantic one.
-
Indeed, althou Bioware managed to confuse it somehow with destroyer or something like that because according to Battle for Citadel in Mass Effect 1 - SR-1 Normandy was half the size of Alliance ships refered to as Dreadnoughts... then Mass Effect 3 comes with slightly modified model of them now called cruisers (most of the fleet was composed from these) and there were a couple of those huge ships that Hackett commanded to escort Crucible during Battle for Earth and those were supposed to be Command Ships.
I scaled allthe three ships to SR-2 which is around 350 meters, Dreadnought is around 400-450 (I set it to 450) then Cruiser is around 500-600 (I set it around 650) Command ship is set to 850 meters
-
I'd stick to the ME1 codex definitions. They put a lot of thought into developing the universe through that, better than in 2 and 3.
-
Dreadnought is scaled to SR-1, the rest is scaled to SR-2.... yet, something went horribly wrong while scaling Cruiser and Command Ship
Cruiser was supposed to be twice the size of the SR-2 while Hackett's Command Ship was supposed to be even bigger... not to mention there is no smoothing on it and glows doesn't work :D will try to fix it tomorrow :P

EDIT !!!
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG !!!! The Collector Cruiser didn't crash when loading in NIFSkope after converting it to NIF :yay:

-
Any chance of throwing in the Cerberus cruiser in Alliance colors? I like the aggressive look of the split "fork" design it employs even though it is only a slight modification of the Alliance cruiser.
-
Command Ship and Cerberus Cruiser are almost the same ships :P
thus the Command Ship shown on the pics few posts above is infact Cerberus cruiser repainted with Alliance colors ;)
UPDATE : Collectors cruiser is in game, tho I have to make speculars and hardpoints, then rip some sounds from ME2

I am loving this thread!
-
Where the frack are you getting these? they are AWESOME :D
-
Unless his method changed abruptly, straight from the games. And yes, he has been in contact with Bioware about it.
-
JOYGASUM!!!!!

Indeed, all models comes straight from Mass Effect 1,2 & 3, some ships needs minor to moderate texturing work (mapping, alpha channels, speculars and overal retexture - Dreadnought neede it as it was using old ME1 paint scheme)
Only the Citadel was built from scratch (my first model btw :P)
I got Alliance Dreadnought and Cruiser all scripted and hardpointed and are ready to by packaged and tested.
to sum up the list of so-far and to-be-released ships :
SR-1 SSV Normandy - Released
SR-2 Normandy - Released
SR-2 SSV Normandy - Released
Turian Frigate - Released
Turian Fighter - Released
to-be-released :
Alliance Dreadnought - 90 % (in-game, awaiting repacking and testing)
Alliance Cruiser - 90 % (in-game, awaiting repacking and testing)
Alliance Command Ship - 70 % (in-game, model error - not showing alphas, messed up smoothing)

Alliance Stealth Frigate - 50 % (in-game, scripting done - awaiting total retexture)
Alliance Dropship - 20 % (conversion underway)
Cerberus Cruiser - 70 % (in-game, model error - not showing alphas, messed up smoothing)
Cerberus Fighter - 0 % (awaiting conversion)
Cerberus Dropship - 0 % (awaiting conversion)

thanks guys !
I might have gone too far when making projectiles for Alliance ships ... will need to edit them :P
ran Destiny against few Trek ships and she held her own even with shields down ... yet again, projectiles :) they need serious balancing :D
Collector ship was a little bit too small so I've made it twice the size, hardpointed aaaand ... glows stopped working :funny
but it's safe to say all those four ships (Alliance Cruiser, Alliance Everest class Dreadnought, Destiny Ascension and Collectors Cruiser) could be possibly ready in few days...
some pictures :

Damn I may have to get my BC working again.... :lostit:
-
No rush Killa ;) those won't be out till tuesday ... next tuesday :funny
-
Tuesday? Seems to be a recurring theme. lol.
-
Tuesday might arrive a bit sooner tho, cuz I managed to fix that damn collector ship :D it glows now but the glows are... well, let's say it is not eye candy right now, I'll make new glows tomorrow
(http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz16/Bones_mccoy/stbc2012-10-1700-07-44-59.jpg)
EDIT :
glows on Alliance Command Ship /Cerberus Cruiser are fixed too :D

No rush Killa ;) those won't be out till tuesday ... next tuesday :funny
Medical personnel??

Out of curiosity Bones...why do the engine "glows"(Nano blinkers) look way better in your pics than they do in my BC? :P
-
Unreal engine allows for super cool effects like engine glows that are not part of the texture, the closest way to achieve that effectin BC is to add nano blinker ;) I might add some glows too.
-
Bones, I think you misunderstand me. I'm talking about in your BC screenshots. Your engine "blinkers" look more like lens flares. Mine just look like little balls of light.
-
Oh I see now, check if you have the blank texture in NFX2 folder (scripts/Custom/NanoFXv2/SpecialFX/Gfx/Blinker/Blank.tga)
Update :
I've came to senses about ME codex and I'm going to rescale Dreadnought again, now it will be the biggest ship of Alliance fleet (800-850 meters long) and I'm going to retexture it from scratch as I'm not happy with overall quality of the Dreadnought textures (Bioware really improved their texturing since ME1 and Dreadnought's texturing looks seriously outdated compared to Cruiser)
-

I do indeed, why?
And I'd hope that their texturing improved. :funny Have fun with the new textures, can't wait to see it. :D
-
Ok, could you PM me your blank.tga ?
trust me, by looking at ME1 then at ME3 textures, they improved :P
EDIT
Update on the Everest class (Dreadnought)
I've almost finished 'wings-structure' of the ship, I'm thinking about making engines dark grey/black like both Normandies had but first I'll complete main hull.
Here is a picture showing original Bioware's textures with my color modification compared to brand new texturing ;)
-
Dreadnought is retextured, time to get it scaled properly ;)
-
Hmm, good ones :D
-
Would it be possible to make the windows smaller and more dense? This ship is nearly a kilometer long. You should have the windows be visibly more intense than those on the cruiser.
-
Yes, can't see a problem here ;) I figured out that cruiser is going to be about the size of 600 m, while dreadnought will be around 900, Battleship will be 750 m ( Command ship was too long and served no real purpose so judging by the agressive look it will suite better as battleship/battle cruiser)
Tomorrow I'll start retexturing Alliance frigate to ME3 style Alliance colors.
-
Bones showing Bioware how it's done! :yay:
-
If nothing comes in my way (RL stuff mostly), this will be quite a mod release spree :D considering 4 ships are 95 % ready and another 10 ships and 2 bases are in queue, this will be something :D
Collector Cruiser is finished conversion/retexture wise, for in game testing I was using 8472 bioship hardpoint and itwas real joy to tear Normandy Sr-1 apart in a matter of few shots :funny
also I mentioned I hated glows on Collectors ship, they are now reworked and looks sharp :)
I'll post pictures later, when I deal with that stupid graphic card switch ... (when I leave switching dynamic, BC choose Intel GMA 4500 instead of ATI/AMD GFX  tried to overwrite that with ATI graphics switch manager but it is stubborn, same thing with SFC, KOTOR and any other game that came before 2006 :lostit:)
-
...for in game testing I was using 8472 bioship hardpoint and itwas real joy to tear Normandy Sr-1 apart in a matter of few shots :funny
Whoa, I just realized how similar the collectors are to 8472... *mindblown*
-
Indeed, they are very similiar, thus the only change I have to make to the hardpoint will be renaming and relocating stuff and change engines values unless I want it be about as maneuverable as Normandy :funny
-
Aw but I like huge stations that turn on a dime with no regard for the laws of mass and physics.
-
I bet you do ;)
the frigate I've been talking about :
Please note it's only a rough concept of main hull ;)
-
Whoa, I just realized how similar the collectors are to 8472... *mindblown*
And the Reapers are quite similar to the Borg.
-
I really love the detail on the engines, the gold/bronze really accents nicely with the greys and blue accent.
-
those are actually Bioware's engines :P I'm gonna aim for a much cleaner style of SR-2 ;)
and that's why I couldn't settle for the preview textures from my last post... decided to re-draw then again, now I think the main hull of the frigate looks much better ;) I fell in love with SR-2 allaince paint scheme and thought is would look epic on SR-1 (frigate) so main hull is done, engines comes next then exhausts and tower.
-
The SR-1 in the SR-2's colors. I like the way you think Bones.
-
beautiful work :yay:  seriously, But I was wondering If you were going to release these two:
ME3 Alliance dreadnaught:
http://troodon80.deviantart.com/gallery/38584637?offset=48#/d524euo
Cerberus Cruiser (I know you are releasing the model in alliance colors):
http://troodon80.deviantart.com/gallery/38584637?offset=48#/d4w898d
-
I do not know yet, Cerberus cruiser will be there for sure, but I'm not sure about ME3 Dreadnought, if I manage to find it in ME3, I'll most definitely port it ;)
Final touches to do before I sent all the ships that are ready to beta testers and there's the list of ships that are working ingame (just need to work on harpoints for a little bit longer ;)
Alliance fleet :
Fighter
Cruiser
Battlecruiser (Cerberus cruiser with Alliance colors)
Dreadnought (ME1 version retextured to fit ME3 style)
Collector's cruiser
Asari Dreadnought - Destiny Ascension
and here's scale chart of all those ships
(http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz16/Bones_mccoy/SHIPSSCALECHART_zps52f6a873.jpg)
-
Awesome. Gotta love the Destiny Ascension. It's so weird, but beautiful at the same time.
-
 ...... Its full of win!!!!!
-
What is best about this list, is that these ships are about to hit BCFiles soon ;) this time nothing stops me :D
-
Woop, can't wait to download these awesome ships!
-
Awesome Bones.
Great work!
-
the Normandy+Sr2 is WAY to big! it should be ALLOT smaller its pretty much the size of the defiant!
thats not the alliance dreadnaught, thats an old alliance cruiser, Mass effect 3 dreadnaught can be found here!:

Yes, indeed that's not the Dreadnought from ME3, I have already said that ;) In ME1 data packages the model is called Alliance_Dreadnought. I will be trying to kitbash ME3 Dreadnought tho ;) with your reference pictures it shouldn't be hard so thanks for them ;)
SR-1 is stated to be around 150 meters lond while SR-2 was said tobe twice the size of SR-1, that statement would make SR-2 a 300 meters long at least tho BioWare isn't too consistant on size (in cinematics SR-1 is half smaller than Turian Cruisers and Alliance Dreadnoughts (both said to be around 600 meters according to ME1 codex)
I haven't been able to work on any of these for past two days, I'll get back to them tomorrow ;)

Sure, that will save mealot of work, thanks
-
Well, the SR-2 technically has more decks than the Defiant...well, depending on which VERSION of the Defiant we're talking about.
-
I refuse to believe there were Dreadnoughts in any of the battles depicted in Mass Effect 1 or 3. It would go against everything stated in the Codex. They have no business being any closer than a thousand kilos to any battle. Just say they were cruisers, mislabeled in game files. That would fix the sizing as well.
-
Yes, I've came to such conclusion as well, with Max's Dreadnought size issue shuoldn't be a problem, considering either ME1&ME3 ships assisting Normandy were cruisers (during Crucible cutscenes we can actually see real dreadniougt) so all the ships I have ported are cruisers up to battlecruisers, Dreadnought will have to be at least twice the size of cruiser :P
-
i can't wait for the ships but i will like u to try to make a normandy sr2 with full upgrades like at the end of mass effect 2
-

Untrue multiple dreadnaughts i think 3 can be spotted in the battle scenes also they can be seen in the Omega dlc cutscene battle where they are very much capable of close combat
-
It's been stated in the Codex that Dreadnoughts would get in the way in close quarters, given that they're too large to maneuver their mass drivers to fire. Were they in cutscenes? Yes, because Mass Effect suffers from making space battles look exciting so they had to throw them in. Just like in Star Trek - Data would say they were something thousand kilometers from an enemy ship, then in the next shot, they're shooting at each other at point blank range.
-
Guys ... and girls ... although I duobt we have one around :P I think you already know what I'm going to say ....
YES, my wonderful HP laptop is down, YES, all but handful of parts could be salvaged for reselling as used parts ... and finally YES, hard drive was not among survivors ...
this leaves me with a TOTAL loss of ALL my WIPs...
I tried as hard as I could to recover at least partial data from the damaged drive, no go this time tho...
I think it is fair to say Jimmy or any other moderator can lock my threads down :( for I have no chance to recover any of the project at this point :(
I was so damn close to release bunch of these ... sorry lads
-
Well, weren't some of these direct from the games themselves?
-
Such a shame Bones, those re-worked ME ships looked awesome. However things do happen and I hope you find a way.
-
Sorry to hear that Bones.
Hopefully you can save up and get a new system to start fresh.
Best of luck!

It's the first time I'm not laughing when hearing that :)
Yes, ALL of them were direct ports from ME1,2,3 BUT, some were completely retextured from scratch ... I think no one will give a F-word if I say FUCK !!!! why didn't it happen AFTER I sent those ships that were beta ready to beta testers
-
When u back up and running i'll set u up some server ftp on sfsy and then u can at least keep them backed up, anyhelp you need ill be there
-
Thx ;) I'll keep that in mind ;)

The answer is: The universe hates modders that take forever. :p j/k
-
... so much for compassion
:funny
-
Or maybe the Reapers got mad you weren't importing any of them yet and reaped your HD?
In all seriousness Bones, that really does suck a lot. I love the Normandies and the Turian ships, and was really hoping to have some other ME stuff. :(
-
Biggest pity goes to two ships that were completely redone - ME1 Normandy and Alliance Cruiser retextured to ME3 alliance colors ...
Update !!! :D
I found 'em !!!!!! I've revalledI been testing some of these ships on my brothers PC and I found few ships on his PC - alpha stage tho but it's better than nothing :dance
Ships I managed to recover
Alliance Frigate - AKA Normandy class frigate (retexture recovered - no alpha channels, alpha stage hardpoints)
Alliance Cruiser - ME3 version (no alpha channels - no hardpoints)
Alliance Cruiser - AKA ME1 Dreadnought (also retextured - no alpha channels)
Asari Dreadnought - AKA Destiny Ascension (game worthy tho it also lacks hardpoints)
....and that's about all ... it's not much compared to the list I had, but it's a start
-
Excellant news man! :dance
-
thank God the most important ships were at brother's PC (tho to me the Collectors cruiser and base were more evenly important but they're gone for now)
I'll need to rip new sounds from ME3, then I have to redo hardpoints and projectiles ... aaaand alpha channels .... and speculars :D
all in all it's better than nothing at all ;)
-
Thank goodness! Make constant back-ups from the point on. ;)
-
My bro alraeady done that :) tho even tho I did recover about 15 % of my WIPs I think it won;t be paranoidt to save remaining files on several memories ;)
-
It may be paranoid, but I think in this case, paranoia is justified. I'd hate for you to end up getting back to where you have everything again and then the worst happens.
