Hi All,

This mod is called Bridge Commander: Generations This is a culmination of works, I have dabbled with over the years. I've gotten special permission from Mark to release the EF2 bot modifications. This mod is a total conversion of the bridge crews by male/female voice files, era and canon variants. Basically, the player will have the option of choosing their favorite era. The mod will include the following features....

* Unisex Positions (the modder can fill any bridge slot with the male/female bot of their choice)

* Customized .TGL files for the bridge crews

* New Characters/Species textures and uniforms (The new Species are the Orions)

* BC Generations touches not only the canon crews but their Mirror Universe counterparts
like the ENT Defiant crew and the TOS Mirror crew.

* Alternate Crews (Think of it as a rotating shift)

* Mutator Controlled (but I hope to get this done using UMM functions)

Now, here is the first set of pics featuring the Enterprise era. Say what you will, I liked the show. I hope this take on the beta uniforms do the series Justice (or at the least your install).

I'll post pics from each era here, later on. ;)

THANK YOU!

( I don't like Enterprise, but I'm giddy over all the work you've done for this! Here's hoping you get the UMM interface sorted :) )

LOL Bren  :funny

I know Enterprise is an acquired taste. :P

Making T'Pol's uniforms was the most challenging. She maybe a semi-emotional Vulcan. But, she most certainly was a "snazzy" dresser. T'Pol was a fashion horse, and I have the fourteen uniform variants to prove it, lol.

Here are some pics of the TOS Era. Featuring the Original 1701 crew. I also have a TOS alternate crew that I will post later.

Well done.
I've got a question: Will it be compartible with Kobayashi Maru and other mods?

that reminds me, I've gotta get the TOS bridges back.  they gave me trouble last time, and would crash the whole thing.

btw, what hauled YOU out of retirement?

I decided to clean out my modded install, before moving on too making uniforms for Excalibur.
Besides, I thought it would be nice to share. :P

Here are some TMP pics. To get a convincing look, may take some non-canon measures. Due to the mirroring situation with the EF2 bots. This is a problem, I definitely won't have too worry about on EXC.

I still have a lot of work to do in this one... :banghead: :D

Love quality of work and looking forward to this.  I've got a bunch of personal mods (TMP, TNG, DS9/VOY, Klingon TMP/DS9, Rom TNG/Nem, JJ) and all work ok in KM1.0 with mutators.  Shame the EF2 bots not more easily moddable,  but quality good (better than stock BC) and enough variety to give crews personality  :)   If had wishlist would be for more canon Worf(s) and Ferengi.  I got SP game to work with EF2 crew but not having Ferengi bot was major pain, lol  :banghead:

edit: sorry...forgot cookie for good work  :(   Fixed.

Thanks for the kind words, Lurok! :D

I've been following your bridge set works as well, Most impressive!

I agree about the the EF2 bot limitations. The mirroring situation is aggravating enough. Because, I prefer the little details myself. I had an easier time with the stock bots. I made some updates that I might release later on. I made some Klingons, I'll post about them in a separate thread here. As for the Ferengi? The stock bot will do, just as ugly in any case. On the SP, I converted over years ago when I was doing the beta work for 3rd Era/Frontier Productions- back in 2005. The most fun I had with the bots, was making custom characters/faces. You know, we ought to pool together our talents. :P

I have some pics of the TNG and NEM uniforms. In my rendition of the original VOY crew, I didn't add 7of9 or the EMH Doctor. For some reason, I found their characters too be annoying and overused, IMHO.

Maybe, that's why I asked El to add the EMH as a damageable HP, in the Intrepid class pack. :P

I just realised I neglected to show the Mirror Uniforms.

Here are my take on the uniforms seen on the Enterprise episode "In A Mirror, Darkly Pt." These are just a rough draft. And I'll have to work out the mirroring effect on the bots. Some canon additions of the mirror uniforms may not be practical on the bot.

I do intend to add the "buttons and whistles" such as belt/sachet and ranks late on.

I'll have to hit the trek fan sites to resource the ranks and such. Making the mod is good practice for Excalibur. :D

Update :D

Here are two videos I made of the alternate TOS & TNG crew. Though, the observant eye, may see multiple mods in some of the vids. This should give one an ideal of what the uniforms will look like in-game, with a simple walkabout on the sets. :P

* Star Trek: BC Steamrunner Bridge

Thanks for the compliment guys :)

Here are some pics of the TMP crew in Baz1701's TWOK set. After dusting the digital dust off, so to speak. While playing with my TMP Command ship, I decided to revisit this project. Though the TMP uniforms are not finished just yet. I found a canon mesh of TMP uniform sig. I'll try too swap it out the TNG comm-badge on the bots.

well, look who popped up.  Blackrook.

we got a new guy around here that might wanna experinemt with body models at some point.

before you disappear, i do have a question.  if you've done heads and bodies both, how the crap do you shove the head and hand textures together on one piece?

Oooh. Nice pics and work, BR   I've been playing around with TOS bridge too (but too lazy/bored to remake  :P) and the wide angle perspective was bugging the crap out of me.  Easily fixed with adjustment in bridge script - if I can remember what it is, lol - and now looks more canon.

I've been looking at the bot/meshes from the Sims2. But as I researched the community- their modding restrictions are all over the place. Plus, Electronic Arts (EA Games) takes a dim view in porting their base meshes, too any other game- even if it's freeware. :lostit:   :bitch: :roll :banghead:

On the Bots in BC: Generations, If I'm not mistaken, they are both the same mesh- just allocated differently in the scripting. I haven't delved into making bot meshes from scratch, but resourcing what is available in our immediate communities, and some MAJOR rescripting. :)

Sounds like a really interesting TOS set project. I've been working on some non-trek Bridges as well (just got lazy with the scripting  :P). I'll PM you some pics.

With this project, I still have too make the ranks for the ENT era uniforms. No hard, but tedious. On the TMP stuff- not much I can do besides replacing the sigs and making the belt. The mirroring effect is still annoying, lol. :banghead:

The Uniforms look very nice, Lurok- I'm noticing the TMP skirts! I have your Starfleet bots, I did noticed you ported all of the EF2 heads as well. I can try some TMP texture experiments on the Starfleet First Contact uniforms.

Right now, I'm in the middle of getting a new job- saddled with a 40 hour orientation course. But, if I can swing it, I'll post some pic by this weekend. :)

**Update**

Just started a in-game test run for the "All Good Things..." uniform conversion for the EF2 bots. :D

I've been multitasking a bit, College courses and stuff. Hopefully I will start releasing this mod by eras, and probably during the Holidays. On this part of the mod, I have to conceal the pips and place (cut & paste) them on the canon spot of the AGT uniform. As for the comm-badges, sorry, every attempt wrecks the bot. This took about 7 hours to do the textures and scripting.

Here are some in-game pics...

Right now, I just have to do some more tweaks too even up the "torso and neck textures" on both the male & female uniforms.

Hi All ;)

I just had a flash of inspiration!

While playing around with the DS9FX v 1.1 beta (which is very nice btw). I noticed how out of date my old Major Kira mod was. I really liked the stock facial features, but the EF2 bots don't really have bots with next to any hairdos worn by Kira Neryes, so with some slight of hand, I was able to recreate the mod. The uniform was modified from a base that Lurok showed me. :D

I'm going to transfer my old Bajoran uniforms to the EF2 Bots, with some refinements. I wanted to see if the tiled effect, that's canon to the Bajoran militia's uniforms would translate well in BC. I've decided to revamp my old Bajoran Militia mod, keeping the distinct faces and placing them on EF2 bots.

Here is a sample...still in w.i.p. :)

** Update **

I really got tired of the way the Nemesis uniforms looked on the EF2 bots. I remembered a very nice mod on BCFiles by Van_Dyke.

http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/Van_Dykes_Improved_Fed_Uniforms;5896 (http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/Van_Dykes_Improved_Fed_Uniforms;5896)

This mod had a distinctive and realistic texture for the upper tunic. The resulting pics are my attempt to graft the texture on the EF2 uniforms. Any one who have altered these EF2 uniforms will know the male and female tunics are quite different, in the way they are stretched on the bot. The male tunic was straight forward, but the female tunic conversion, required some "out of the box" thinking. This is just a rough draft, and I may darken the tunics to a deeper grey. Also the back on both male and female tunics need to be uniform in the center, still on the fence about that one.

I just wanted to see how well this update would translate in-game.

Yeah, I know it's not to everyone's tastes. IMO it adds some depth to the set, overall.
The LCARS textures are by "hjenterprises", Not a part of this mod though. The pics are from my install "Venture Refit".
hjenterprises did make some interesting works over time.

For some reason, I could not rest until I got a "visible" Captain on the set. "It was bothering my waking moments and interfering with my days" :P Yes I know, the player is the Captain. This would be good for those like me, who like too make YouTube videos and take the random screen pic. Hopefully I will have the Captain/bot in the seated position, and a corrected .TGL. This is just a test, to see if I could actually achieve this on a modded bridge, on my own. Well, I got Captain Archer in for some group shots below...

I thought it would be cool long ago to have a character (kirk, picard, sisco, janeway, archer or genaric) sat in the captains seat and you able to take the seat of any of the other bridge crew ie: relieve the helms man or tactical etc...

but like i say cool job :) and your bridges are great... very real feeling :)

Thanks for the compliment. One of the reasons I like modding for BC, because it allows all modders to express their slant on the Trekverse. If any of my creations elevate your BC experience, then more the better! :)

Entirely possible  ;)

LOL, don't ridicule my sojourn into mind numbing scripting :P  I took a different slant in placing the bot. The Captain is actually one of the scripted extras, I just made him a regular fixture on the set. Rob_Archer gave me the ideal, and I ran with it.

Right now, I'm outfitting the rank insignia's for the ENT era uniforms, this includes the Starship Intrepid, Columbia and UESPA variants. Just finished up all the ensign pips for the females, more to go. I'll need to test a sample in-game, before proceeding further. These are the canon ranks I found on Spike's Trek page. Here is the listing of the order of progression. I know it looks like a lot, because it is. More so on the Starfleet side, than the Macos. I'll post some pics up as the work progress. :)

Quote
UESPA Starfleet Ranks
=================

- Fleet Admiral/Commander & Chief
- Admiral
- Vice Admiral
- Rear Admiral
- Commodore
- Captain
- Commander
- Lieutenant Commander
- Lieutenant
- Ensign
- Master Chief Petty Officer
- Senior Chief Petty Officer
- Chief Petty Officer
- First Class Petty Officer
- Second Class Petty Officer
- Crewman 1st Class
- Crewman 2nd Class
- Crewman 3rd Class
- Crewman 4th Class (no pip)

UESPA Marine Corps/Macos
======================

- General (four stars)
- Lieutenant General (three stars)
- Major General (two stars)
- Brigadier General (one star)
- Colonel (silver eagle)
- Lieutenant Colonel (silver leaf)
- Major (gold leaf)
- Captain (two silver brackets)
- First Lieutenant (one silver bracket)
- Second Lieutenant (one gold bracket)
- Chief Warrent Officer 1st Class
- Chief Warrent Officer 2nd Class
- Warrant Officer
- First Sergeant
- Master Sergeant
- Gunnery Sergeant
- Staff Sergeant
- Sergeant
- Corporal
- Lance Corporal
- Private 1st Class
- Private (no rank)

Here is a sample rank for the Female Ensigns. Not sure about the scaling, but it is identifiable. I have to make it just right. Any larger, and I'd run the risk of the higher rank/ pips, being distorted or cut off by the bot. I viewed the positioning from a promotional pic of ENT's Hoshi Sato/Linda Park. ;)

I've often wondered how MASS EFFECT human models would work in BC.
It could be revolutionary to port them over and have the most realistic forms in the game.  I don't know if B could handle it.

I've explored the possibility with using Sims 2 or 3 bots, researching EA/Electronic Arts usage policy. I would love to have more detailed bots, but it isn't pretty for modders. The problem is EA/Electronic Arts's EULA prohibits exports of their material, into other games, even if its freeware. But they don't mind you making money off any modifications, as long as it remains with the original game format. :lostit:  :bitch:

So, if someone manages to port the Sims 2, 3 or Mass Effect bots (I actually have S2 and ME 1 & 2) then that would be cool. But you could never release the ports, or distribute them publicly, without EA's legal vultures swooping down to enforce their DRM. Which they have been known to do, as a main hobby, just to set an example for others.  :(

* Update * 12/26/12

This opens up some interesting very possibilities, since I was able to get my hand on all the bots in the ME3 game. These are in .iwo, and not freakin' .c4d. I may need to look into porting the basic animation, the articulation w/walking, movement and the hands especially, because BC's are over a decade old, and look really primitive by today's standards.

I'm not abandoning this project, but I'm curious about more detailed bots. I'm going to conduct some experiments, to see how things work out. Here is a sample of what I'll be playing with.

Actually, I don't make mods on what's liked. Like most modders, I make things to my personal tastes and what I want to see in game. I never got the impression this mod wasn't liked? :rolleyes :vb_shakehead: :s

Though I haven't released this publicly, many of my friends and modding cohorts have a copy; and I haven't heard any negative opinions or complaints. Since the community decline, I haven't had a pressing need to release this mod.

Seeing post like this isn't encouraging either....

I think he was referring to, people don't like when you necro old forgotten threads. I don't think he was referring to people not liking your mods.

That's my interpretation as well.
On a personal note: While I understand why reviving WIP threads is frowned upon here (I mean which mod author likes being pressurized?), I also can't really blame people wishing to know if a mod is still being worked on.
(In fact, I'm curious myself whether or not BR32 still works on BC:G occasionally.)

Perhaps, that's what I get for typing while sleep deprived :(

The mod is basically done. The things not finished are the ENT uniform ranks and making the mod UMM friendly, which I know how now(thanks to studying some of Lurok's Bridge QB scripting).

Its just a case of enthusiasm, and not being side tracked by other modding ideals/projects.

Mod Update:

Looking over the TOS mod, I decided to update the mod a bit more; in particular the canon uniform insignias. I've was just going to do a couple of variants for other starships as seen in TOS. But I went off on a tangent and decided to create all of them, lol :D

This mod also included custom Andorian and Orion females

So far, I've created the Enterprise, Lexington, Intrepid, Exeter, and the Constellation signets.

I'll post more pics of the other crew soon.

Thanks for the compliment! :)

Here is another example of something I always wanted to see; an updated AGT uniform for the EF2 bots. All I have to do now, making rank insignias. I tried to find the best example of the AGT comm badge on the net. Next up, are the TNG 1st & 2nd season comm badge and uniforms.

I like that bridge!

I think that's a hjEnterprise's creation. He did a lot of cool reflective bridge textures.
I think it was a part of the Break.com purge in 2012.

After watching Star Trek: Picard season 3, I finally had some inspiration.
Using the AGT mod as a guide, and a few tweaks, I was able to make this
less than five hours.

Welcome to the 25th Century...

Here are some screen pics of finalizing this particular Enterprise uniforms (adding ranks)
It's tedious, but I'm a 1/3 of the way there, Not only does T'Pol has 14 uniform variations, the 4th season catsuit gets more complicated. You can refer to the list on this thread, on how many ranks will be added.
