Just out of curiosity, are you going to make the new shuttles as well?

I could.  There is enough reference now.

I'm back. :)  To start off, I will not be taking requests for ships.  Plus, Trek XI reference should be posted in the correct movie thread NOT this one.  I will work on ships when I have time.

Anyway, the Excelsior's textures are completed as well as the speculars.  The Enterprise-J is almost ready for release, so PM me if you want to beta test.  Enjoy these pics! :D

I don't know how that all works.  Who knows, maybe I'll be contacted soon about converting it.  I'm also planning on doing a Lakota variant as well.

I just wanted to see if I could build it.  This is the same model that I first posted in September (with some minor adjustments).  It is going to be my High-res Excelsior for higher-end computers.....I think it is currently around 45k polys.  Some people would criticize the poly amount......I could think of a few people.  I was tired of people using old ships and kitbashes of old ships, so I built this one so that it would last much longer in terms of detail and quality.  More importantly, this ship is retexture friendly. :D

Think we are easily getting to a point, where peoples machines can handle the high poly stuff. Question is, can the game handle it? :P

Easily.

It's always good to see people breaking away from this low poly matra that so many people adhere to religiously :D

Good to see this going! And jeebus, what a nice Excelsior!
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

Good job though
