Enterprise-E Nemesis Renders/Reference
« on: September 27, 2009, 10:53:06 PM »
hello all,

I'm not really sure if this should be posted here or in Modding, but i recently stumbled upon the CG renders for the Nemesis Sovereign. Since I'm not really a modder, and not to skilled in textures, Im supplying these shots for more capable gents. If this is in the wrong sections the please move it.

Happy modding!

Indeed it will ;) I no the CG Sov isn't the exact match mesh wise to the nemesis sovereign, but it's the best out there by far so I'm going to give it some brand new textures thats if CG will grant permission ;)

Just fancy a little change from the DQP.

I've already started on her, left is Nemesis, the right side is the original textures. Any more updates ill post in the graphic arts forum :)

CG posted some time ago his wide open permission to modify his Sov in whatever way you wish crediting him for original and include original readme in new mod ;)
shades are so far matched very well

hmm looking at those renders I'd ignore the last two pics.... The panels look discolored from the previous pics and they are also raised which they weren't either in the previous ones.
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

yeah noticed that too.

Well I'm about 40% done on the aztecs on the top of the saucer, so once the saucer is done,  i'll post pics in the modding section.

Hey! yea I've been busy with college and flight training, so I haven't had much free time. The minute I found those renders, I had to share them with the BC Community.

Unless you can poly reduce that beast by 75% then it'll work otherwise...
All hail the messiah!

isnt it the same mesh they used for FC and Insurection if so its just been textured diffrent and the poly count is only like 80,000 and i heard BC can run it.

FC didn't have a CGI model for the sov...

The best BC can run is around 50,000 IIRC
but the details are still to great and to try and reduce them would destroy the model.

Actually Nebula, there was a CG model for FC. You see it I think three times in the movie: 1st at the beginning when the Enterprise goes to warp. 2nd when the Enterprise warps in front of the Defiant.  and the 3rd time when you see Worf, Picard, and Hawk walking on the Hull.

Sure, it might, but it would probably go to hell in conversion and even if it didn't, with the way BC's lighting works, it would look terrible.

I thought LC was up to model new Sovereign for Excalibur... He even started a thread here but then left it for Excal IIRC

Nice find!!

Jb06, take the colors shown in those renders with a grain of salt.  Lighting and material properties are everything--those shots clearly weren't made using the proper lighting rig of the movies.  I'd only use those renders for modeling and getting the shapes of textured details right.  You should still use screenshots from the movies to make sure the textures are the proper colors and hues.
