oooh!!  i do hope this happens!  :dance

Michael Dorn wants to write and star in a low-budget Star Trek movie

quote from article:
Have we seen the last of Worf? Not if Michael Dorn gets his way. The Star Trek: The Next Generation star wants to make a brand new low-budget movie, either direct to DVD or for cable TV. He's writing it himself ? he's already started ? and he thinks it could go alongside the big budget J.J. Abrams movies without cannibalizing the audience.

Talking to TrekMovie, Dorn explains:

Quote
TrekMovie.com: So where do you see Worf now?

Michael Dorn: He is captain of a ship ? a Federation ship. He is out there in the front lines basically chasing terrorists.

TrekMovie.com: So you want to make it edgier? Darker?

Michael Dorn: Totally, totally. I think we will have some of our Star Trek people in it, but mostly new characters. It will be interwoven into the fabric of Star Trek. And also what we going through right now.

TrekMovie.com: When do you think you are going to have your first meeting at CBS?

Michael Dorn: I have couple meetings I want to do before that. First with Rick Berman, who produced all of our shows, just to see what he thinks. Then my manager. And I know people at SyFy. And I'll just start gathering information. If anything happens it is going to be next year because I have a bunch of stuff to do this year. I have already started writing the script and excuse my language, but it f-ing great.

Let's hope nobody keeps dismissing Worf's input this time around.

vid from last link, which is hilarious!
No one ever listens to Worf. He gets denied, rejected, scoffed at, laughed at and he keeps his poise through it all.
Worf allows his instincts to guide him. He needs people to calm him down. Keep him in check. Keep him on a tight leash!
From Beginning to end, here is pretty much every denial.
KAPLAH!

I TOTALLY hope this happens!!

I want some of this timeline of Star Trek to come back!

I do like the new movies and all but hey - there was nothing wrong with our Trek that we've always loved!

I would TOTALLY watch a tv-series, with Worf as the Captain.

Wouldn't mind ANY Star Trek with ANY characters, as long as it makes a return to television (where it belongs, imho)

I don't think there's been a star trek film that wouldn't have been better as a mini series imo.
I think this Worf-Trek would be worth a watch or two :)
I miss :bigdance:

still I'd love to see J.J. Abrams take on ST series based on STXI with a mixture of TOS/TNG climate, JJPrise & JJTOS crew and more sinister atmosphere like the one from BSG (reinvisioned series) ... that would be something ... yeah yeah keep dreamin' bones  :funny

Sounds like it might be a SyFy miniseries.  I do hope so.  That channel has gone so far into reality TV and wrestling that a good flagship science fiction show might be just what it needs.  Say what you will about BSG and Stargate, but they didn't have near as much of a fanbase as Trek does.

Honestly, I would love a series based on the U.S.S. Kelvin in the Prime Universe.

It would confuse new fans some, but there is potential.

It's funny because there are times when I feel that I've had my "fill" of one series for a while and then I watch another one until I get my fill on that one.

But speaking just for myself, I never get bored of any of the Treks  :D How many of us have watched so many (if not all) the episodes of one trek or another (once again, if not all) a bunch of times and we just keep coming back!

We were all born with this love. I'm convinced of that.

Chances are slim but it would be sweet if it happened. Worf's got decades left so why not?
All hail the messiah!

Besides, the cool thing about Worf, is that due to the amount of makeup and prosthetics required, even as Michael Dorn get's older, he'd still be able to look exactly the same while playing Worf :)

(on a side note, never understood why Brent Spiner didn't want Data to "age", when it was even suggested in the series, that he CAN age)

I think that was only Data's mother....

But I would so totally watch Worf as Captain.

We've seen Data experiment with adding facial hair, as well as adding a streak of grey to his hair (All Good Things). Data has the ability to breath (despite claims to the contrary, in Insurrection), and although he can "theoretically live forever", there is always the possibility of catastrophic systems failure (i.e death).

He may have the ABILITY to breathe, but from what I have seen he is not required to do so in order to continue functioning.

Michael Dorn has the longest existing character in all trek series, and he has been in more eps than anyone (even moreso than Colm Meany, or whatever the frack Chief O'Brien's real name is lol)
i do hope this pitch of his happens!
