thanks all you guys.

mayhemuk--> I appreciate it.  Neb sent those too, but there's one in there I forgot to look at, so thanks.

glenn--> that will make things much easier.  cheers!

serverandenforcer--> They're still of because technically speaking I'm still working with the model that will be unified.

aeries--> you're right, all the windows are currently textured just black.  that'll change.

update.

I've made numerous changes to the model since last time.

1) Pretty drastic change to the main impulse engine.  I studied some screen-caps very closely, and I've made the engine taller, stick further out, and slightly wider at the base.

2) Changed the battle-bridge area. (Thanks Neb)

3) textures added to the main bridge.

4) Made the escape hatches a touch yellow.

5) changed the nacelle grill texture to be brighter when lit up.

6) moved the drive section rim windows forward.  They were too far back.

7) changed the phaser array colour to a warmer shade of gray.  much more accurate now.

8) textured the saucer indentation for when the ship is separated.  There are virtually no good references of what's there, so I decided to put in what I could figure out, and then mirror some details from the cobra head, so that it won't look empty.

9) a bunch of other minor texture changes and re-mappings.

Ok, what kinda bugs me and this is a slight nitpick, the 6' model the half-docking clamps didn't raise, and there weren't any half-docking clamp indentations on the saucer either.  You can sight the link for Encounter At Farpoint as a reference...

I know it's included in the tech manual though.  Why they did that and not on the model itself is beyond me.

EDIT:  Other than that it looks great :)

You do realize that this model is primarily based on the later seasons model (season 4 and forward) ?

Model looks great DJ. I am continuously impressed by the level of detail your putting into this girl. The Galaxy class has always been my favorite canon design, and i'm glad that it's finally getting the full treatment. I liked the later seasons model a lot better then the early model.

WHICH didn't seperate unlike the 6' and 2' models...I'm saying it bugged me, that's all.  I like the work he's putting into it :)

JB06:  I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about, how will textures up the polies???

On Topic now...

DJ, I cannot wait till this baby comes out :) even if it fries my PC.

Nice work on the separate ship sections DJ, both the model and the textures are looking very tidy.

I really like tweaks you've made to make the ship look even more canon to the show, but be sure not to forget that the Saucer Impulse Engines need to be lit up when the ship has separated. Still it's early days yet.

Quality workmanship as always, I can't wait to see her leave drydock!!
