Star Trek: New Frontier Novel Project

I started this a few weeks ago and things have only just become being noticeable to be worthy of the attention of the BCC community! I give you, the Star Trek New Frontier Project!

If any of you have read the books, then you know that the main ship is the USS Excalibur-A, Galaxy class. They have met many races (I will go into more detail later) and I'm now making representations of these ships.

UFP Vessels
USS Excalibur (Ambassador)
USS Exeter (Ambassador)
USS Trident (Galaxy)
USS Excalibur-A (Galaxy)
Space Station Bravo

I plan on using the blank textures in DJ's Galaxy Pack to create the Excalibur-A and the Trident. The original Excalibur and the Exeter, I might ask LC to borrow his or use the WZ Vanquisher except tone it down a bit on the power scale. Space Station Bravo...I believe USS Prime was working on a Starbase (hint hint, nudge nudge)?

Thallonian Vessels
Dreadnought
Heavy Cruiser
Light Cruiser
Frigate

Now, although there is no description of Thallonian vessels, I've decided to make my own idea of what they look like. I've got Queball's permission to edit the HP and the models of his YoH ships (Mawasi, Zahl, Nihydron) and the Species10026 ship and I have pics!

Redeemer Vessels

I'm only in the planning stages for these ships but if I can get in contact with Atolm, I will be able to get something going on these ships.

Romulan Ships
Spectre

When one of the Excalibur's crew was found out as half-Romulan, she went to the Romulan Star Empire and got a stealth ships, the Spectre. Unfortunately, she had to kill her crew who mutinied after the death of Praetor Hiren at the hands of Shinzon. Since she was important to the Praetor, other Romulans considered her a wild card to either be possessed or destroyed. After regaining control of the ship, she and her 2nd in command aligned themselves with the Thallonian Protectorate.

I believe pepperman might be able to help with this...

Selelvian Ships and Tholian Assembly Ships

Just a few ships of power. I shall begin my search shortly.

Non-Aligned/Other ships
The Lyla

A small ship commanded by the Excalibur's rogue son, Xyon of Calhoun. Maybe the Nova Waverider with tweaks...

If there are any other ships I may have missed, please tell me so I can add them to the pack!

The Starbase? Sure. You'll need someone capable of doing all the junk it needs though (Beyond the modelling itself) But I can finish it up and pass you it when it's done.

Right, new update:
CJLarkin is now being kind enough to work on the Lyla ship so I wont need the Nova Waverider.
I have permission from Atolm to retexture and re-hp his Sheliak Fleet models.

Right, I think their maybe some model scaling issues so that means re-hardpointing but i don't care, its fun!

The Thallonian Dreadnought has some nasty mega phasers! They're slow to charge but a decil when fired. Just thought I'd bring it up. I may begin work on the Redeemer ships.

lol..the tetrix? This would be a great excuse to revive the griffen or shadow classes (or even the shrike) from armada 1 and 2 except scratch built and higher poly and well detailed. The shadow or griffen best fit the spectre. Since you're obviously up on the series, is there a site for it? I've read several but not in order and certainly none of majority of the beginning.

I'm not exactly up to date. I've just read about a war between the Tholians and the Selevians involving the Trident, Shelby's first command, the USS Exeter, another Ambassador class. Will need to update the list now.

You might want to check out some of the New Frontier comics for visual references.  If I remember correctly, a Redeemer ship was in "Double Time" (looks kind of like a flying pyramid) and in the current one, "Turnaround," Space Station Bravo, the Spectre, and a new time ship are featured.

yeah i would recommend that if you do this project, you should look at the comics, to stay with the established cannon in the nf universe.
