Could someone tell me what happened to my hardpoints?
« on: December 25, 2008, 12:02:48 PM »
First of allMarry X-mas!
Can someone tell me what happaened to my hardpoints? Theye were OK when I backuped them, then I had to reinstall my OS and BC as well. I put the hardpoints of mine into the game and a game can't read them, this happened to some not all to my hardpoints, I Tried to edit them with IDLE and MPE but even those could't read them, I used F32 View in Total Commander then I was really shocked. Normally the content would show up, but this i'snt happened. I attached one corrupted hardpoint, could someone take a look at it please?!

I think something went wrong during backup. It only wrote zeros.
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...

What backup software did you use?
And how many files are there before the first p?
It won't be so arbitrairly as "don't backup anything that's after the first file starting with p".

from "peregrine.py" every hardpoint is corrupted, before that there is "pegasus.py" and that one is readable, like every hardpoint before.

always verify a backup worked before deleting the originals. In the case of a BC install, a dvdrw might work..or an external drive.

yeah, most likely a system error occurred during the copying of Peregrine.py

What was the reason you are reinstalling your OS?

sounds like what my friends computer did before the motherboard blew. Is it old? Bad ram maybe too. Seeing as how it apparently corrupted data when it was being moved perhaps ram.
