Thanks, that means a lot coming from you!

That looks awesome so far.

I was able to find one shot on EAS that showed the front in some detail:

it looks like there's some sort of deck or platform in front of the shuttlebays, as well as a bulkhead separating them.

I carefully went over it and enhanced the lines that I could make out.  I'm not 100%, since it doesn't look symmetrical, but it is definitely suggestive of some features that most Steamrunner models are missing.

My apologies for bumping an 8 year old thread, but I wanted to see if eclipse managed to get anywhere with this old project? I realize I never got around to actually helping out on it LOL

Truth be told, no.  I haven't even attempted to yet...

and to be fair, I had completely forgotten about it

Merged as this is gonna be my one stop shop for all my mods!!!  Including the Continental Class.

And also an update on the Steamrunner.  I haven't had much time with this due to Triad Anime Con here in Greensboro.  BUT I managed to work on it some tonight.

Of course!  Rick Knox did a fine job on the original model.  I just spiced it up a bit!!

I didn't see this I'm sorry, my modeling skills are limited...so I wouldn't know even how to change that.

I do like it how it is though!

UPDATE:  I've ported the model into NIF.  Now it's just finishing the textures and speculars

No real updates as I've been exhaustingly busy at work.  But I have some time tomorrow I might work on the Steamy!

Update:  Reworking the aztec textures, so it's looking a bit bare, but I decided not to remodel the bridge and go with the original textures.

Oh wow man, didn't realize you were working on an update!

If it helps at all, Eaglemoss updated the original Steamrunner model for their starships collection.  The front shuttle bay doors are gone for some reason, but there does appear to be some rear doors which would give the ship a flight deck that goes all the way through the saucer.  There's additional texture detail as well.

Figured some extra reference material never hurts  :)

For some reason I can't upload attachments so I'll just post the Memory Alpha link:  http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Film_studio_models#Steamrunner_class

It's cool, but the thing is I'm sticking with the original P81 model.  I'm not going for complete accuracy here.  And once I get more of the hang of 3d modeling I might attempt my own version.  For now though I'm sticking with the original one that I was working on :)

Well considering I put on modeled Phaser arrays and torpedo bays lol. It’s the only model update I’ve done 😂😂

Oh hush dead thread warning, it's my thread therefore I can post if i wanna LMAO!

I'm still around, and still working on the Steamrunner.  I can't get the aztec panels  right (they're not curving like I want to!) so I'm gonna work those from scratch.

I'm also testing those aztecing skills on another retexture/partial remap that I'm working on.  I have yet to hear from Kophjager on releasing this but I've been retexturing his Luna Class, I do not plan on releasing this until I hear from him personally!!!  I want to see what the class would look like with a Sovereign Class style paintjob!  I've mapped a couple of other things around too so that it looks good.  Here's what I've done so far!

I've mapped the ID to include escape pod texture since the escape pods are modeled on!
I've completely redid the textures, and I'm basing them on Wiley's Nemesis Sovereign class.
I'm giving her my own feel for Aztec  Paneling, basing it on the Ancient Font Type.
I've given her extra windows and I plan on rearranging a few windows (most notaby on the Catamarans, as they're bothering me a bit)
I've even textured on a new deflector for her.

Here's a couple of pics!  Let me know what you think!!

finally!!!

there is only one Luna class model out there available - thank you for taking this on dude!!!
i LOVE your deflector, the "standard" one just looks so cheesy somehow...  yours makes more sense there as such as far...  hell, a blue sovereign deflector would also make sense, IMO...

he's not the only one recycling a P81 model.  unfortunately, I got stuck on the windows, took a break, and got hit with spring chores.  and now my second job started up, which means working 6 days a week...

it's amazing what revamping a texture can do for an older model, isn't it?  I might steal the gradient idea for those windows...
