Warp Flash- Released to BC Files :)
« on: January 14, 2009, 04:17:02 PM »
A couple years or so ago, I made a warp flash (pre-NanoFX2) to replace the stock one.  I've finally got around to making one that can be used with NanoFX2.  It has been modified from my original design to use a lot more frames for smoother transition.  Here's a animated version to show what it looks like.  I'm thinking about going ahead and releasing it for downloads over on BCfiles.  What do you all think?  Like or dislike?

Looks interesting.... I actually would have to see it in game....but I think it would go nicely with tmp era vessels.

Reminds me of the explosion effect that Picard sees in a christmass tree bauball while in the Nexus in 'ST7: Generations'.

I like.  :)
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

It actually looks more like the Barzan Wormhole event horizon (the TNG version, not the VOY one).

i have to agree with everyone else, it looks more like a TMP flash than anything else, altough if you made it bigger it might actually go really well as a core breach effect as well. just a thought
does this thing ever get old? seriously.... i've been here for ever and nothing new happened. this must be purgatory

Here's a couple ingame shots....The ship coming through the warp flash in the background is a Sona Battle cruiser.

Warp Flash--Update
« Reply #10 on: January 22, 2009, 12:43:13 PM »
Big thanks to FourChan for beta testing this for me.  He did have a neat idea of changing the color, so what I'm going to do is keep the Blue color for the standard install.  Then I'm going to include an Extra's folder that will have four other colors to use if you should choose.  Green: Romulan,Borg,Breen; Purple: Dominion, Andorian; Yellow/orange: Cardassian,Ferengi,Kessok; Red: Klingon,Vulcan

Good job. Now we only need a script that assigns a different warp flash depending on the ship's race

That would be kewl.  Something similar to the way the warp flash and warp core breach colors work as well...
...I'll look into it, but no promises.  If someone would like to take a shot at that one...I'm okay with it.

That'll be a hard one, I know there's not one for different shields (asked) but I dunno about warp flashes.
