Concept Intrepid WIP (Updated Feb 10)
« on: February 09, 2009, 11:07:09 AM »
Concept Intrepid designed by Rick Sternbach.

So far the result of 35 minutes.

There's one problem, no images of the deflector. Will figure something out.

EDIT: New image of forward hull coming together.

...Probably not, but the number I get(379.6m) could be considered ?original intent,? a term that I think I will be using from now on, and ?canon? be damned.

Ah.  I know what ship you're talking about.  I was looking for a pic, but couldn't find one.

EDIT found it

Interesting.  I'd go with a fatter Voyager-style deflector, based on the pic FarShot posted.

Nice, I want to see this, though I wonder what a version would look like if the engines were flipped so they're facing upwards the right way.

I think that this was designed when they were thinking about how the ship would land, that's were the engines position comes from.  Glad to see it added to BC, always thought that it had an interesting look.

It looks hideous vertically flipped. Voyager was always going to be landable, and to compensate for a lack of MVAM, one of the earlier designs had a very Star Wars Pod Racery gimmick to it (The Nacelles had vents that would fling open for some reason, the concepts are just hilarious). There's a bunch of other concepts Sternbach did for Voyager that I may also try my hand at sometime.

Farshot: Thanks mate, but I have every possible reference google could find. There just isn't an underside view. :)

Oh, that wasn't a reference.  I just wanted to put up a pic so that other people would know what that would look like when finished.  Hope you didn't mind.

Ryan out.

K.

Stopping for a moment because I saw a model that I just had to try building.
