« on: April 21, 2009, 07:33:33 PM »
As you can see by the size chat i have attached, there are 3 cannon types of Borg cubes

i already have the cube and tactical cube but now i need the assimilation cube and i am having trouble finsing a cube that is the right scale

i am using the CR Cube and CR Tactical Cube and i would appreciate it if someone could offer some solution as to how to get a cube that is double the dimensions

thanks

Assimilation cube the one that attacked Earth?  Cause that seems about right compared to the Akira and Sovereign on that same chart.

yeah, the Assimilation Cube is the cube that you see in First Contact. It has a sphere inside it.

the cubes in "Q Who", "The Best of Both Worlds", and most of the Voyager episodes are just regular Cubes

OMG how small is DS9 compared to a Fed Starbase, Assimilation Cube is a good idea, I thaught that there is actually a smaller sphere than those seen in Voy when I saw Firs Contact, but this makes sense now if the cube is double as big as the normal one.

*for the third time lol :P*

Nifskope can increase size dimensions. It's a free download that you should find easily if you google it. If you have 3d modelling programs like 3ds Max, that can also do the job but you may have to reassign textures.
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

3ds max -> Scale Tool & cut in nice big docking hole thing for the sphere...

+ New textures... higher res the better in this case [imo, since the cube is huge, low res textures will look like sh!t in-game...]

+ Obviously a new hard point.

Essentially, learn to model, texture, script... pretty much learn to mod. Most modders are busy with their own projects and real life 95% of the time when requests like these are made [some people get insanely lucky...]

Unless there's already a cube of that colossal scale available, but I doubt it...

Also, isn't there some problem regarding flying ships of that size? I seem to recall something having been said about that at some point...

at any rate, if you want to learn to mod the game you're in the right place. If not, you'll just have to be really patient until somebody actually makes that cube variant accurately... assuming anyone ever does.

gmax is an okay app, if you're looking to start. It's just like 3ds max, but scrapping a few features. :]

Indeed ;)

Im not too sure how accurate these scales are though. The best reference for scaling is
