import from SFC
« on: September 19, 2009, 02:53:13 PM »
Ive been playing with gmax, and built two ships for SFC

The USS Wasp
http://sfc.battleclinic.com/docks/view.php?id=4715

and
The USS Horizon
http://sfc.battleclinic.com/docks/view.php?id=4714

I found a copy of BC at Half Price Books yesterday, and enjoy the game started getting other peoples ships from bcfiles naturally, but I love my deadalus and my Wasp, there built the size to fit in SFC do not know the size diffrent, but a Daedalus Class should be about the length of a Connie Engy section and the Wasp about 2/3 the length of a connie but taller. Can anyone give me some tips, also I noticed TGA files are required this is a problem as firefox doesnt support TGA alpha belnding properly, Ive ran into this before, so could someone help convert the BMP's to TGA format

I do have all models also saved in gmax 1.2 format as well naturally

You can find a tutorial by Starforce about converting ships from SFC to BC in the tutorial section.

There's also a Nif plugin for gmax.

take a look at the values in other ship's hardpoint files, there is a tool in the SDK, called Model Property Editor, that allows you to view hardpoints on the models for easy placement.  with that tool you can also tweak strength and color of weapons systems.

package them and send them to BC files, most ships get at least a couple hundred downloads.
