Uss Cousland
« on: January 25, 2010, 01:11:43 PM »
hi guys this is a long shot but i have a ship that i would like someone to model for me also hard point because i have had this ship on my brain for many months now but i have only just finish a first draft drawing now i have to warn you its drawn with paint but i have also included in the drawing its background and part of its specs i will draw up better specs when i find the paper i wrote them on but feel free to comment or put down what you think could be better and for some of you i will make better drawings of it so you can see the front and back, top, bottom.

cheers

just to add if your wondering why the emitters are better than the enterprise-e arrays its because with the emitters you can channel the weapons energy straight through its power matrix which then converts it to the phaser beam eliminating the "1 second charge time" when a phaser array activates

i hate to tell ya, but modders generally never take requests as they are all backlogged with their own work and projects...  if you want something done for BC, youll be better off doing it on your own...
youll have more luck asking for help and tips about going to make it on your end rather than asking someone else to do the whole project for you...

i have spoken with other people on other websites where i have put up the uss cousland but after reading reviews and posts i decided i would make it out of a newer class of star ship than the constitution so i remade the cousland out of the Cheyenne class.

you may notice some colour has not been added correctly because like the first it was done in paint but this time i used a blue print model and converted it but its better quality than the first one and may be easier to hp and make when i get around to it.

like before i'm open to any suggestions and comments!

then perhaps i misunderstood when you posted "i have a ship that i would like someone to model for me also hard point"...  in either event, i do hope you are successful in the project :)
feel free to ask any questions you may have, where other modders can help and guide you through the process...

also - you might want to go through the Tutorials forum, and also through this modding forum for helpful tips and ideas...

Hobbs i like the design the body of it is perfect but i would prefer a 4 nacelle edition like mine but feel free to use that design as a fast cruiser variant its up to you

If you want a class name i was going to call mine the Nogan class thouh its still a work in progress

I would hit the sfc boards. Some of the guys over there can convert gmax models. Perhaps not to BC but to something else that can be loaded into regular max and then coverted.
I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D

I have both Gmax and 3dsMax.  they share a nif importer/exporter plugin available at niftools.

Neck would look a lot better if you shape it in Excelsior style ;)

i don't want to make anything on the ship look like anything from the tmp era as this ship was built just as the tmp tech was coming to fruition on starfleet ships hence this ship was designed and built before the excelsior was even dreamed of so its a good idea you have bones but i can't have excelsior style design if the excelsior wasn't even built they would have nothing to go by.....
but thinking along that line i could make it as though this ship was a non-cannon pre design of the excelsior a kind of "prototype design" made with "new" construction techniques and tmp tech.

Ok then, how about making the neck wider at it's top instead of narrowing it ? it look odd now, I have another idea but will have to draw it to show you what I'm thinking about :P (standard TOS-styled neck with expanded sides, kinda like wide body kit for tuners)
