So, it's April First.  Anyone heard anything?
Nope. The rules say that the results will be announced on or around April 1st. It will be sometime soon, maybe within a week.

No matter who wins, I am happy with our current modding group. The contest was very bad in design.

To me, the winner's design is "meh." I'll have to see more views of it for me to like it.

hmmm ya IMO the design is ok but nothing of the "wow!" factor...  nothing against the designer or his work of course, but it doesnt really "stand out spectacularly" to me, as i imagined a new Ent-F design would or should...
btw - is there no other pics of this design other than that hand-drawn one?

THAT is what they have replacing the Enterprise-E!?  It looks like it was ripped off from the original Enterprise-C concept...

Its that combined with this:

"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

Do not want!

There is pretty much nothing that I like about it. They failboated on this one.

I think that though it is different from what we would call an Enterprise F, which is pretty much DJ's Century, it can definitely be called one.  It has a certain air of majesty inherent to them all, and since STO is not a quick dogfight game, a ship faster and more armed than a Sovereign wouldn't really fit the bill.  It does seem to go towards the direction of the Galaxy once again, so no qualms there.

Though I wasn't in the top 25, I'll always be a winner in my heart (aww) and so I plan to go forward with modelling my interpretation for Bridge Commander.  (http://www.startrekonline.com/enterprise/sites/default/files/imagecache/lightbox/ent-f.jpg)

I think that Thomas Marrone sketches looked pretty good.  Though I still think the dual neck thing from the original sketch looked stupid, his adaptation looks pretty good.  I like how it blends from aft of the impulse engines.
