igh. I agree. mabey just drop the top part and plop the nacelle right on the fin top?

uh, this is gonna sound a bit weird, but have you ever thought about a TOS take on a D'Deridex?

Just to let you know I've been working on Vanguard Station today. I think I might of gone a little over the top with my detail, for example all the Hull lines on the top and lower half of the main dome including the cargo bay doors are modeled in at present so I'm just going to wait till the rest of the basic parts are done to see if i need to get rid of some of my detail, but I'm hoping I wont have too

leave a comment if you guys want some pictures

*Addition* I'm having quite a hard time trying to figure out how I'm going to do the docking pylons *arms* ideas please??

So after a couple of lazy months i decided to throw my self back into my modeling, and I'm so happy I did. endless fun trying this model but I've used a few references and have picked what I consider to be the best of the all, so its like a bit of A, a bit of B etc

But with out further ado here is my take *so far* on the federation vanguard station Starbase 47 - a type 6 starbase

As you can see, instead of texturing the hull lines in, I have opted to model them in, and still I have not hit 10k, so by the time shes finished and clean/optimized i hope she will be a smallish mesh still,
on one more note I would like to say the docking ring is a place holder at the moment, that is by no means my final part
