BCUT Hardpoint Tweaker Tutorial?
« on: January 03, 2012, 10:45:05 AM »
In the Bridge Commanders Universal Tools there's a section from the BC Tools navigation selection, and under the Tab of  Hardpoint Tweaker.

In here I want to know what values are permissible for a ship to have. I mean what are the limits. There really isn't any guide to that sort. Like I can make numbers as high as 99999 but will it be permissible for Bridge Commander to accept such a thing? It don't explain those values.

The SDK for the modders don't give you much in the way of these ideas either. I looked. And nothing in any of the threads here do I see anything regarding such.

I'm not trying to modify the model just the properties of how a ship perforrms in game. What the model looks like is already OK with what I have seen anyone already made. Particularly the wonderful models that Rick Knox once made many years ago. I am just asking regarding the properties of (for example) how a ship repairs itself. Those kinds of numbers I'm looking to regarding limits (lower and upper).

BCUT don't really have anything on this matter either. Nothing in the documents there explains these.

Thanks much for your help.

BC has no limit rly on the number of torps or strength of hull/weapons just the number of weapons (which I think is 30 something)

though I've never fooled with the repair numbers... the higher it is the faster it repairs I would think.
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

Thanks for the reply there, Nebula.

(Off topic now, is that avatar of yours a "Bleach" anime character by the name of Ichigo Kurosaki? I am a fan of the show, if it is.)

and as many opinions of what ship should be stronger than what other ship. Best to decide how strong you think it should be in comparison to a few other ships ( I uses cannon ships as landmarks, such as a connie when doing tmp, or excelcior for that area, ect) or if you know of another ship that performs similar to how you want the ship you are editing you can look at the numbers in the hardpoints and make them similar.
I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D

Speaking of the Constitution classes, I tried out one of those from the Connie Refit Pack by WickedZombie45 from the files at the Bridge Commander file library at FileFront. And boy was that a hell of a powerful refit.

I managed to test out that connie version with the Borg technology installed in there. It was equipped with phaser arcs like the way the saucer section is in a Galaxy class. Then the torpedoes had the shield draining kinds where it was adopted from the Borg. And I manage to take out 2 Romulan Warbirds and 3 or 4 Cardassian Galors and coming out if that fight without so much as a paint scraped on the ship. Amazing!  :lostit:  And no I wasn't cheating in using God Mode.  :P
