The only reason I found out about this was because I was going to make a render with the model (The one in the Scifi Renders Thread); I imported it as per normal and when I tried to light it, the model kept showing up very dark in my renders (as it has in the BC engine). I should also note, flipping the normals directly in 3ds Max didnt work, it only worked in NIFSkope. But yes, I concur with Flarespire and Moed, it was probably a glitch when exporting.

I like that ship too. Making custom nacelles without references is always difficult for me.

Superb designs, worthy to be used on screen in an official ST show ;) I'm happy to see the Odyssey class from STO too.

Is there a chance to something similar to the Allegiance? I'm wondering how your take on a Galaxy/Sovereign hybridf would look.

one ship im DYING to see, well put but u know what they say about asking for models as one of the modders my self it is tidias but i'd love to see it too - DJ i have the new REAL ENT F they should of chosen your century but i really can't wait to see your take on it, are you going to change it a bit to give it your own spin or keep it as intendid??

Hello everyone, sorry to be posting so late, but I never really post anyways, so this is a bit of an honor to you, DJ.  I have been a treky since birth, TNG being my time in space.......I have tried every single star trek game out there, and 99 % of them turned out like flops.  Bridge Commander and Klingon academy were by far the closest things to a trek universe, if not for ships alone, the rest were like playing flight simulators.  I have been geeked out in hard pointing and scripting BC for 2 years now, and picking it up rather quickly, but I have to say by FAR, DJ Curtis, you are the MAN when it comes to ship design and skinning.  I have probably been one of your biggest downloaders since i got into BC, which I missed for years. (Kind of gave up trying Trek games till someone had a designer that knew what TREK was all about.)  STO, well lets just say I am not a fan of MMO's but it has depth in bean downs and exploration, but its filled with WOWers. People that have no idea what the franchise is all about, or Gene Roddenberry for that matter.  Just alot of kids, sexist dudes, and grinders.  So I got out of the game way before that Ent F came along, and I would like to say as a 35 year old artist, and game/sim junky and treky, that ship looks like a pregnant whale.  It resembles to me, some ship SFRD did that never made it to my pc, based on looks alone.   The prototype to their Legacy Class.  Legacy looked great, don't like their hard pointing or balance all too well, but its second to you, good sir.  As i said, I have downloaded your ships thousands of times, each and every one of them, broke them down, learned how you scripted them piece by peace, and not ONE is my least favorite.  My flag ship is tied between the Velox Class (Excelsior A) or the dreaded Athena, Sun Tzu.  I hard pointed slipstream drives and cloaks on them and set everyone of your ships in their own/ my own fleet.  Federation Spec Ops.  LOL.  Please keep me posted on any future releases and any other games, even if modded, can stand to BC's, even if completely unstable CTD design.  E-Mail me at Lord.Chadwick@gmail.com  even if you need a beta tester or some help Hard Pointing, if your still doing ships for BC. Skinning IS next on my list.

While that is a nice post and all, DJ Curtis has left the BC Modding scene.  We know not where to and, to my knowledge, none of us has had any contact with him.  It was a nice run, but I think he wanted to leave while he was still on a high note.

First, i'd like to welcome captainpendragon to the BC-Central forums. It's always nice to see new patrons around here, especially people who enjoy modding the game.

That being said, Shadowknight1 is absolutely correct. DJ Curtis left the modding scene over a year ago, and has not been seen since. So with that said, let's let this thread go back into the background and let DJ Curtis have the next post, when/if he returns.

It's also not very nice to bring up old topics that have been dead for over a year. This is what is called necroposting. But as this is your first post, i'll forgive it. Just giving a heads up :)

Thank you moderators, and I am sorry for being a necromancer, never cared for that kind.  Dead things should stay........dead.  I am sorry to hear about DJ, and I understand.  Maybe, in time, I may try to walk in his footsteps.  LOL.  Seriously though, I got the new 3D max, but never got around to playing with it.  As far as making a model for BC, which program would you suggest?  Don't worry about teaching me all the ropes, I do well learning things on my own.  Just point me in the right direction.  Oh, and I will NOT post in this posting again.  I am so sorry about that.  Like i said, I never got "involved" with postings.  Most people ask and reply to the same questions i have, so i never needed to.  From here on out I'll start new ones, and be more active here.  Even get a little crafty on my profile.  I post here one more time, even in disgust to my moderators, to say, "Its been a great run, DJ Curtis, Whomever you are.  You kept the dream alive, and I feel you would have had Gene himself knocking at your door to design some ships for the series, had he been here.  Wherever you are, this last posting and bit O' Rebellion is for you.  Live long and Prosper."

DJ doesn't work on Excalibur, nor is there any work of DJ's included.
