HP Question
« on: March 13, 2012, 01:16:13 PM »
Does anyone know where and in which HP one can control the size of a NanoFX muzzle flash from a firing torpedo?

If so, what parameter changes that effect?

I have a couple of smaller ships that fire torps and the muzzle flash is huge. I'd like to size it down so it looks more correct.

I'm fairly certain that the white flash you are talking about is not controlled at all by the ship's hardpoint file. I would guess that it's somewhere in the NanoFX scripts.

Very good vonfrank, you partially right, but change the RADIUS overall can effect flash sizes,
Example and try this ,you got a ship, with 2 pule on has an over radius of 10 on of 0.1. can see it easier to compare.

Where specifically can I find this RADIUS parameter that you mentioned?

Open your pulse  , like your going to change something [which you are] [be warned it can still be BIG flash] then goto subsystem properties you'll see it right there next to the hit points field.

the RADIUS overall can effect flash sizes

Are you sure about that? From my experience the radius only modifies the 'size' of the subsystem on the ship. In other words, how far from the given X, Y, Z point that system can still receive damage. Perhaps that modifies the flash size too, but I've never noticed that.

By the way moed, if this is true and you reduce the radius value it will also mean that your weapon subsystem will be harder to hit with weapons fire as well.

True but if you think about it, torpedo tubes are a fairly small portion of most ships so hitting them should be a bit harder.
