This very well in fact may impact BC and those of us who still want to play MP from time to time.

oh yeah that's right IGN no longer owns GameSpy

Sorry to bump, but there is a system called Gameranger that supports many of the now disconnected games. Star Trek Legacy is supported, but BC is not, as far as I know.

I use it for Homeworld :D

IIRC this topic really doesn't encompass BC anymore since the BC servers were brought back.

gamespy was the server host for BC... you had no choice.
