Hey All,
I thought i would give a little preview (without giving away too much detail...yet) on my next and current independent project,
Here is a little obscure ingame screenshot.
Think Vorcha Class Evolution
-
It looks like the Klingons and the Romulans were working together again.
-
very streamlined, yet still agressive, i like and it looks like its going to be post-nemesis, she going to be a beauty no doubt about that, way to go lint :D
-
looks really intresting :), will it be an high poly (means 20k+) or a normal poly count ship?
-
normal poly man :)
-
yes, looks very dangerous
lint, the klingon empire is yours...
great work.
-
just call me, "Chancellor Lint",
-
sorta looks like a combination of canon and atolm. if you really want it to be an evolution you shouldn't use a vorcha head at all, because it looks silly to have an advanced body and engines and then what...the klingons stick the old fwd pod on it? Design wise it doesn't make sense. Those nacelles kick arse, though.
Chancellor lint lol... hang a couple big cannons under it and upscale it 2.5x we can call you "regent lint" as well.
-
i started off building a crude vorcha model and started making alterations from there to retain the original vorcha look, except for the nacelles ofcourse,
the bridge module is next on the list, so you can bet it will be newer looking,
The ladies do refer to me as Regent Lint, hint hint, ;)
but lets not elaborate on that and try and stay on topic!,
haha
-
Let loose the dogs of war... heh heh heh... 8) Bring on the coolness...
-
Lint how about doing something like this for the command module? http://startrek.wikia.com/wiki/Qang_class

I think it makes sense, the klingons probably mass produced them for the Dom wars and have a lot left. They reused them in the new designs rather than scrap them. Though a new command module wouldn't hurt.
-
the new command module might work with the rest of the ship but iv got a feeling lint is going to do somthing more streamlined
-
Sleek and mean.
Nice work so far.
-
hmm fascinating, I have to admit yes.
the long nacelles are really cool, though IMO the "Vorchas" Neck is too long.
Its an extreme weak point at the vorcha.
only 2or3 torps need to hit and it would fall of...
but yeah, of course youre redesigning the vorcha, lol^^
-
here is another pic,
Ill give you a proper shot instead of an ingame one this time :)
-
awsome work, I really like the new head :D
-
looking great,
-
I give you your 30th cookie. :)
-Aeries.
-
updates have been a but slow because of other projects, but i hav'nt forgotten about her,
here is a little update,
-
nice, have u thought about what weapons she'll have and what shes balanced to???
-
she will be more powerfull than the vorcha and similar weapons to what she has, which is alot of disruptor canons, and maybe an ion beam at the front.
-
sounds gd, what about to foward tubes(cant remember how many foward torp tubes there is on the normal vorcha lol) and stick to 1 rear, im looking foward to this ship tho, nice one lint
-
I have neglected this ship for about a month now,
but after spending the last few days playing KA i was inspired,
So i have started todo alot more work on her,
Here is a couple random renders, Ill post some more pics later on :)
-
Very nice indeed!!
She's looking nice and tidy Lint, your fast becoming our main Klingon ship modder for BC, nice work!! 8)
-
What Glenn said
Have a dawg cookie
-
she is shaping up real nice man... loving it so far
-
wow. very nice its looking alot meanier then the orig vorcha, cookie for u
-
That looks great Lint :)
Though it doesn't really look like a Vor'cha anymore, it makes a great adittion to the klingon fleet :)
-
Ahh, nice work dude. So that's the paneling you were describing before...
Very good work, sir. Very good indeed. 8)
-Aeries.
-
It's a very pretty design and you have done a excellent job on this :D
-
A worthy companion to DJ's 2395 Galaxy refit ;)
It really captures the feel and look of a Vor'cha, including the "Damn, we're screwed" feeling :P
Any word on the armaments yet?
Heh, maybe I should ask the guys at fleetops.net if it'd be possible to convert to and include in their mod...assuming they'd get the permission 8)
-
brutal desing...
thumbs up
-
I thought i would post a quick update before i goto bed.
I have done quite a bit since the last update, The paneling is about 80% done,
After that im going to design some nice new impulse engines to compliment the design a little more,
Im also thinking about giving her 4 impulse engines at the back instead of 2, but that all depends on what i come up with
when i do the new ones.
Once that is done ill start figuring out the rest of the armaments,
So far she has the standard forward vorcha disruptor beam and 2 ion canons,
(the ion canons are the large things mounted on the dorsal hull, just incase you did'nt figure it out ;)),
I also want to scale the bridge module down a little bit, it seems a bit to big, now that i look at it.
Anyway, im going to bed!,
here are a couple pics..
-
Beautiful work, dude.
Given all you've been doing, you deserve the rest. :)
~Aeries.
-
EAT THIS!!!!
*shoots cookie*
-
Man Lint u are really becoming the numero uno klingon ship builder
-
...if I could, I'd give you a cookie as well ;)
Awesome work. :D
-
then i'll do it instead. 8)
lint obviously deserved it :D
*Happy eating!*
-
i really love the clean, shiny metallic texture that the ship has right now. almost makes it looks like a federation ship :-P unfortunatly your going to have to dirty her up a little bit to fit the rest of the klingon scheme. maybe a couple scorch marks as well
-
My friend, that's what the model looks like before it's textured. Don't worry, after Lint is done with it, it will absolutely amazing. :D
-
looking good! :D
when you are ready to make the HP, consider adding side-firing canons in that neck.
oh, and who else was doing a vorcha EVO? Curtis?
-
I was'nt aware that anyone was doing an Evo kind of ship :S,
And yeah, the textures i did have on there wernt the official ones, i just had some old crappy ones to figure out the hull plating and stuff, Which brings me to this update.
First off i have scrapped those textures now because the paneling is almost done,
I also designed some new Impulse engines, they are kind of inspired by the old K'tinga Class engines.
I tried to make them unique and original while still looking klingon, personally i always thought klingon impulse engines were pretty bland and dull, the K'tinga probably had the most stylish ones.
I have pretty much finished the panels for the dorsal side, And seeing as this is a post nemesis Klingon Ship i decided to go for more of a "solid" and sleek look with them (on the dorsal side atleast)
I have also added grills to the front part of the wings, I rescaled the Bridge Module and the neck, so the neck is a little thinner now and the bridge module is'nt so "fat",
I re-scaled the nacelles aswell, i made them a bit shorter, i think they look better :D.
After the panels, the next on my list will be the rest of the weapons, which i still have to figure out :?,
Im also thinking about doing some serious re-construction work around the bridge, perhaps even a new bridge module, If anyone has any ideas about it feel free to share :D
Here are some recent pics, the model looks a lot sharper now, since i got rid of that crappy texture i had on earlier.
I have darkened the panels in the last 2 pics, Cause they are kind of hard to see when the whole ship is the same colour,
Enjoy..
-
Looking great Lint. I like the shorter nacelles

Indeed, the new nacelles looks a lot better, very nice work so far :D
