A mod that ought to have come sooner. A retexture of the Soulwolf class, the brain child of Star Trek gaming modder Atlom, which was originally retextured for Legacy by LCF staff member, IKS Yo Mama and ported to Legacy by Acidfluxbass. This mod also features a new hp and improved lightmaps and textures by Kirk2164. Some renders for you, to wet your appetite.
-
Nice work! I likes it.
-
Always loved this ship, but always had issues making it work. Lookin' absolutely beautiful, mate. :D Keep it up.
-
That is realllllllly nice! Certainly does the Soulwolf justice.

very nice but wasn't this the enterprise F before the time of the century class.
-
You are correct, I guess my wording is a little confusing. The original design was by Atlom, and the ship was ported to Legacy by the people mentioned.
-
It's about time someone took the Soulwolf and made her pretty again. Nice work.
-
Never thought that a BC port would be put back into BC again;). Nice work.
-
i agree, somewhat ironic lol.
the ship looks great. kirks bc modding expertise has done the ship wonders.

Yeah that is ironic however there are some Legacy models I wouldn't mind seeing in BC, like Tiptop and Max's TLE/TMP ship packs :)
-
I got some on my list, if I can track down the models pre-conversion so they are easier to work with.
-
I'd love to see a lot of ships released only for Legacy ported over to BC and even SFC. However, I get the feeling that most people who make ships for Legacy are against allow ships to be ported to other games.
That's just my thoughts though.
-
Honestly I am sure we all would like to see some ships ported from legacy (the Luna class comes to mind for me as BC doesnt have one yet), But I do think we are getting a bit off topic here on that. As for the soulwolf... it really does bring a tear to my eye as she does look really good in her new skin there Great Job guys.

Not really. Many of them are from armada, or SFC.
At any rate, on the topic of soulwolf, there is atleast one bash other there, Northstar was it? It's a unione ship, uses the same textures as the soulwolf. Check BCfiles, I know there is atleast one bash, and I may have another bash here myself, if you want to do more improvements.
-
Actually I don't think any Legacy modder would be against having their ships ported to BC or SFC. In fact I'd think they would like to see them in other games. I would contact the modders themselves Starforce in order to get the MS3D File if I were you, I suggest contacting tiptop as his ships are devine. Amagosa is doing some high poly next generation ships and I know Chris would not mind them being ported to BC or SFC. Also the guys at New Gen, Max and Coolguy have some cool ships too. I know BC doesn't have much TOS or TMP or even TLE ships whereas Legacy has alot of them, so porting them over to BC would mean more TMP/TOS/TLE ships for BC
Anyways back to the Soulwolf, its a great ship, its like a 25th century version of the Belknap :)

being a legacy modder and a team leader that aims to port into numerous games, I'd be happy to see some of my stuff ported over. Kirk is doing a great job on the Soulwolf. Our existing porters are busy with real life with exams and what not. all it takes is a willing volunteer and we'll have a cool new BC ship and closer ties between the two communities.
-
http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/Northstar_Class;3167 I found that soulwolf kitbash for ya, if you're interested. The original hp from back in the day was a hack job, so it could need a complete do-over, not just textures.
PS, I can't open ms3d. I am currently busy with my chistmas mod. If I don't get atleast one raven ship released I'll likely be shot... 8)

No offense, but you got the wrong feeling.
As IKS said: People should simply ask. I doubt tiptop or anyone from nEw-GEN would deny the request, but there are only few people who asked till now...

exams done. Will pick up a Sovereign and a nova project later this week :)

I've asked a few people before, but never got responses. That's why I have that feeling.
-
Woah, kinda off-topic now.
But, Christmas mod? Starforce, you're not going to amke a Christmas ship are you? Thats my plan!
As for the Soulwolf, i believe more words from kirk and Acid are suggested. She looks great and seeing more of her would look nice.

Yep, and I also said that should they say no, I would understand and respect their wishes. Anyone that knows me knows I ask politely and show respect.
I never heard back from any of them, so I never pressed the issue.

[On Topic]In game pictures soon, I am currently working on a registry template for the textures, as well as fixing the UVW maps.

[On Topic]Registry is now on. What do you think of the placement? At first it looked too STSSC for me, but I like it now.
-
If you want to talk about porting models into BC, I suggest starting a new topic.
I'm not gonna ask what STSSC is, but I like the placement. I sugggest doing something about the escape pods, but apart from that, they're fine.
-
ST:SSC = Star Trek: Starship Creator.
An old game for PC that allowed you to kitbash known ship classes and put your own registry on them, as well as customize all of the ship's systems and crew. Although it sounds cool, it wasn't. The missions were rather dull and boring.
The registries, at first, reminded me of STSSC because they looked sort of pasted on and misaligned, like in STSSC.
Edit: Also, I need help remapping portions of the saucer. If anyone can help me, please contact me on WLM.
Edit 2: Added a shot with a better lit front. The first was to show off the light mapping.
-
looks nice, im not too keen on the white though. looks like a paint job rather than proper registries. maybe a more centralised one in black?
-
Only cool thing to come out of Starship Creator was the ability to use those ships in Dominion Wars. And even then, that didn't work 100% correctly.
Anyway, looking good. ^_^
-
By centralized, do you mean putting the registry in the center, rather than on the edges? As for black, maybe black outlined in white. Plain black will be very hard to see/ read.

what about the traditional black with outlined red? the red and black registry is a sure sign of true federation grit :D
-
New registry placement and lightmaps! Woo! I like these a lot more, and hopefully with Aeries' help I will be able to model in some phasers for her.
-
love it :D
spot on. was this after the epiphany?
-
Yes, after the epiphany I tried one or two other configurations before I discovered this one.
-
this lok the business. nice one :D
-
This ship is coming along nicely, so don't think I've stopped work on her. Quick question though, how big should she be? I'm a little unhappy with the current scale.
-
the legacy versions about 330 meters. perhaps the length of a constellation?
-
That seems a bit small for an Enterprise F concept.

Not nessecarily. By that time smaller ships may have the speed or exotic propulsion and don't need to be large for long range, or must be kept small as part of their design requirement for the speed or exotic propulsion system.
-
What you said has put me at ease SF as I can see that happening, but please, if anyone else has input, feel free to post it.
-
Well since The Century Class has a pretty well rooted claim on the F, this could be the Enterprise G
The Soulwolf Class starship was introduced in the early 25th century, showcasing some of Starfleet's most recent technological advances.
The Soulwolf was commsissioned in 2411. In 2416, after the destruction and death of all of the Enterprise-F crew, the Soulwolf class was the next starship to upholf the great name as Enterprise-G. Their first mission was to make first contact with a species deemed hostile near the Breen border. .
The Soulwolf-class had two hull sections: a spear-shaped primary hull and a secondary hull which supported the two warp nacelles. In terms of deck layout, the upper sections of the Sovereign-class starship formed the command section and living areas, while the lower decks housed main engineering and fuel supplies.
The warp engines of the Soulwolf were of a new design which eliminated subspace distortion effects inherent to standard warp drives without the use of variable geometry nacelles (as found on the Intrepid-class). This is further improved with the use of a secondary deflector which allows warp travel above warp factor 9.98. In addition, it was armed with a large quantum torpedo launcher mounted below the engineering hull. There is also a photon launcer in the same place which fires to the aft. There was one main impulse engine, located at the aft of the saucer section, other sources of impulse can be used if needed.
The Soulwolf class starship is 335 meters long, and packs a huge amount of equipment, systems, and materials into its 12 decks.
-
Haven't you seen my preview video? :P
-
Well, as long as the Soulwolf looks deserving to be the Ent-G, I can live with it. I haven't seen that many pics (even though I'm sure there loads) and so am going to check on the escape pods.
-
Considering that there at least 2 other Enterprise-G designs out there...I say don't give this new Soulwolf the "G" designate. Go a step further. We have the NX-01, 1701, A, B, C, D, E, F, 2 or 3 G's, I, and J. We need an Enterprise NCC-1701-H. ;)
-
This isn't a post Ent-J ship though.
-
H you mean?
~Jb06
-
In the ship trailer, you will see why it will be the Ent F. 8)
-
If memory serves, the Soulwolf had the NCC-1701-F designation many years ago. The model has been around for quite some time.
-
As kirk has said to me before, this SoulWolf is the Ent-F mainly because it lives in a universe different to the Century.
And as far as I'm concerned, those other "G"'s out there aren't exactly what I call "Enterprise".
-

Wasn't it Terran?
-
Nope, not terran, just wait and see. Also, I respectfully ask that I be the next poster with more good news about how she is progressing. (She is, just slowly.)
-
this was the original F, but it never really caught on. since the Centurys in a commanding position, the soulwolf takes its claim at the G.
i dont see why not, it looks a bit more futuristic than the century but no nearly as futuristic at the J :P
-
Well as long as you give it new textures it hopefully will make a good G
