Just playing around with some of Coxxon's models, as well as my own.
If anyone would like to have these MAX files in order to convert to BC, let me know :-). (btw, i use Max9-32). I can provide Diffuse, Spec, Illumination, and Bump maps, plus basically any other map you might need.

I have a 38k versino of the BSG that i retextured, but I think that it might be too heavy for the game.

What's the maximum texture resolution you guys tend to work with? I tend to have the Battlestars at 4096, Medium-Sized ships (like the Manticore) at 2048 and the smallest ships (I haven't posted some others) at 1024.

most people use 1024, i think 2048 is acceptable as well.

2048 is becoming a norm among some of the [in my own opinion, not necessarily shared by everyone...] best mods. I'd *love* to see the 38k models released; it'd be about time we got some fresh, new BSG content for BC. :)

I have considered doing a retexture of WZ's orion ship, but I want to finish his Chrysaor retexture, and then I want to convert his "Spanish Castle Magic" over to BSG duty, then I'll see about the orion ship.
Btw, folks, I've hit a snag. I've got some detailing work done on the Hecatoncles, but I'm looking for ideas of what to do on the hammerhead. Suggestions are welcome.

Polycount = 5,307
Tricount = 9,719 (this is prolly what you want).
I'm looking to replace the cannons on the wings and on the spine. This may cut down poly count some. Still looking to add some details, so I'll see where it takes me.

stunning :shock: Galactica never looked better, I'm not sure if armour pannels where that bright but you're the boss :D I hope you'll make season 2 (with deactivated starboard hangar, some scorches from torpedos ) and 3 (with whole hull damaged and burned) ?

You might be right with the panels. I'll play around, but I tend to take some liberties with my color :-).
The way that this is mapped won't really let me play with making the hangers different (they both use the same UVs). I'm working on making the hull grungy and rusty :-).
I also made a version with Chris Foss / Homeworld Colors (yellow with red stripes) and even Hiigaran colors :-)

Actually I disagree; when I was playing one of the other bsg mods, the models didnt slow it down at all... what REALLY hurt the game was the colossal quantity of pulse weaponry.

No, I agree. Weathering is much needed.
I'm still getting the hang of how to weather stuff, and I haven't really played with these textures in a while, but I promise there will be some tweaked textures, soon.

I don't really have much in the skills of BC Modding. Here's what I'll do. If someone volunteers to do the conversion, I will email them the models I have done (the pegasus, and the high galactica; the low galactica is going to recieve a makeover :-D) and all the maps. They can then convert it to BC.

The Z-95 was based off the x-wing which was designed by the person who designed the viper if I remember correctly.

I could see that; mount a large Gatling gun on the bow and replace the lasers with a pair of anti-toaster tri-firing missile mounts...

the Z-95 was basically a drawing that was an early concept for the X-Wing. It was indeed designed by Ralph McQuarrie, who did design the Viper for the original BSG (and the original Galactica herself).
I think using the Z-95, with its close ties to the X-Wing would be a little too obvious. I think the Scorpion (the one fighter I have with the engines at then ends of the wings and the long nose) is a close design to it.

How do the vipers manuver. From the looks of it, it seems they can just fly in a straight line.
