Well I was hoping for Spielberg and now I'm glad he got his hands on it :D although somehow Halo movie would suit JJ Abrams style ;)

now I hope they won't ruin such a great story but history tells me this sadly will be yet another failure in making film from a computer game, for example : Max Payne, Far Cry (the worst so far), Postal etc. etc. etc.
so far the only movie based on game was IMO Mortal Kombat I :D

No, Peter Jackson was involved in it, but he wasn't gonna direct it. It doesn't look like he's gonna be involved any more though.
I sort of hope they don't stick with the fall of Reach. It was a good idea when only the book existed, but now there's gonna a game revolving around it too, and it seems overkill to have a film too. Perhaps a film about Harvest?
I really they don't make a typical modern (ie shitty) action film though!

i do agree that this does seem like something right up jjs alley
as for a "modern" action flik, god i hope not, nor do i wanna see something where the budget went more for FX than the actual damn story itself. its not like there isnt enough material to work with.
however i could see this becoming another trilogy set, where they do a good prequel, adapt 1 and 2 into the second film, and end it with 3... tho i have yet to play 3, so that opinions kinda naive.

there was a fan fic trailer released awhile back that looked pretty good.
i cant for the life of me remember where i saw it....

next movie adaption i pray for is the metal gear solid movie (NOT philanthropy, tho that looked pretty good too, even tho theres ALOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT of story to tell with that one, the big boss story alone is worthy of 3 movies.)

Mass Effect would be great as a trilogy :D
I do care for good story as well as nice FX, if Spielberg is going to direct the movie then I presume he will ask ILM to make FX for it so we don't have to worry about it ;)

that fan fic movie trailer was (I think) something with ODST troopers right ? I saw it on youtube...

I wish guys from Bungie would change their mind and make Halo 3 for PC tho I guess it's too late for this :( graphics would be severly outdated by now

one thing is for sure - I'll curse ILM if they change Pelican design to yet another trashy-cheap looking chromed aero-crap thing ... Pelicans are probably the best dropships alongside with Aliens USMC dropship ever made.

what's more I'm affraid they'll redesign every vessel/weapon/interiors/characters (they better don't touch Chief a well as Pelcans) :D

1. Thats the Halo Arms Race shorts, directed by Neil Blomkamp who was going to be doing the movie in the first place. Its not the movie trailer.

2. A single real warthog was made for parts 2 and 3. It was also going to be used in the movie before it tanked. Its the same one that the crew from Bungie rode around in that other video.

3. I'm glad its not going to be Michael Bay doing the new movie :p

I just got Robot Chicken stuck in my head talking about Michael Bay...

I hopes Spielberg does this game justice...if not I'm gonna be pretty pissed...and I'm pretty sure the guys at Rooster Teeth will feel the same way
