Title: New Model
Post by: Kingpin on August 18, 2009, 04:29:23 PM
I've started on a new model. I'm not the best at modeling but i'm learning.
I'm trying to make a Starmax from starcom.
Here my start.
Last picture is what m'n tying to make. I know it will take a long time

Not a bad start, though I would have built the main hull using either box converted to a poly and extruded it to the new shape or used an FFD box to shape the box. Then smoothed the poly using the manual smoothing not mesh smooth.

Look at MarkyD's saucer and neck tutorial some good max tips there.

Thanks for the tip. Yes I've used FFD box but only for a smalle part off the main hull.
I was thinking off rebuilding the main hull. I haven'd had the time jet.
All tips are welkom.

@ nitzguy101: Looks like the new max, but might be maya. Both share a similar perspective window with the 3d directional cube.
