Title: Strange CG-Sov damage textures/effects
Post by: Gareth on December 12, 2009, 05:08:53 PM
This is the first time I've played BC in a LONG time now, and I've only recently reinstalled in on Windows 7.

I've installed the Kobayashi Maru mod, and while I was in a battle with the Cardassians I was getting seriously pounded, and at one point the screen was covered with damage effects - I can't really describe it, other than it's like chunks of a massive ship is surrounding my ship but all disjointed, and 'not really there'.

I managed to take a screenshot of it before BC crashed for some unknown reason.

this is a resized pic btw, it you want a larger version please let me know.

Delete ALL the VOX files from your data/models/ships/xxx (where xxx is the ship name). That should fix it.

run the KM Clean batch file

To be more precisely: It deletes all .vox Files and Resets the Configuration to standart.
So, just a search for *.vox files and deleting them would maybe better in your case, since you allready configured BC

ive heard of people having issues in their installs after running the KM Clean file...
best bet is to manually delete the vox files...

That may also be a gfx card memory issue, in addition to the _vox file.

Agreed, it's usually due to 2 reasons:

1. gfx driver issues

2. gfx card getting slightly hotter than it's max rating
