Title: TOS Kelvin (had to do it)
Post by: GMunoz on December 17, 2009, 02:56:11 PM
I will probably gt rapped in the mouth for this one.

Make the engineering hull smaller. It looks too bulky compared to the nacelle.

Dalek is right. Just scale down the radius of the engineering hull.

Scaled the engineering hull down.

Use the nacelle pylon as the one connecting the engineering hull but angle it back further. Have it set slightly further forward than the nacelle pylon. Then prop the engineering hull a bit further head. Then stretch the engineering hull forward so it looks longer and thinner.

Sorry, I know I'm being picky. But a TOS Kelvin should look perfect. :)

Edit: A bit like so (attached image)

Neat project, I don't know why anyone'd rap you in the mouth for this idea. :D

Just, don't put the engineering hull upside down as it is in Dalek's example pic though, lol.

Yes. I haven't quite figured that bit out yet :P.

Perfect. The engineering hull looks a little bland though. Any chance of adding some windows to the textures?

its missing the uhm thing begind the bridge...the extrusion..  if u add that in a TOS style u need smaller pylons and itl look better =D

Maxloef, actually it is there, connected to the impulse engine as it should be.

no i ment more bigger like in trek Xi there the pylons actualy is ALLOT smaller then the extrusion and tit runs all the way to the bridge and is as high as the bridge...

He means the two or three decks that lead off of decks three/four, and support the upper pylon.

Don't forget this is TOS style, and pretty much how I'd have expected a TOS Kelvin to look!

Although personally, considering it's an older ship; I'd like to see the nacelle 'spires' on the bussards. (Perhaps a variant?)

The saucer angle is to steep for this to work.  The JJ Kelvin's saucer is much more flat.

The saucer angle looks fine.  Remember, this is TOS, not JJ.

you know technically, the Kelvin in XI is how it looked in the Prime Universe because the time line didn't change till Nero arrived.

But I like this a lot.  :D  Very well done.

Yeah but one can never be too sure if the changes to the altered timeline begins at that point of intrusion in the time string.   ;)
