Hello. I downloaded a ship (Bjorgdiamond) and am not able to get it to show up in the game.
I downloaded the BCUT and on the basic BSMC tab loaded the ship information and clicked generate plug in. The message "plug in has succesfully been created" popped up. But when I go into the game, the ship is not listed.
Thank you for any help. By the way, i'm doing this for my son who plays the game, he's 9 :)

BCUT most likely put that file in a folder in it's main directory.....
you'll have to find it and move it to scripts/custom/ships
-
Ok. I looked in the scripts/custom/ships and its listed:
\star trek\Star Trek Bridge Commander\scripts\custom\ships
BorgDiamond is listed in that folder.

you sure you made the file correctly??

Well , first I unzipped the mod Bdiamond file. Then I opened BCUT, opened the basic BCSMC tab. Clicked specify, located the Bdiamond file, opened the script file, opened ships file, clicked on Borgdiamond. The rest of the fields auto. filled in. Clicked generate plug in.
Was that the correct way?

You did install the foundation before doing this right?(and from bcut?)

For future reference the program does the mod installation for you, it analyzes the package and copies the needed files to the game directory. It won't however create plugins for ships which have none, it simply installs the files supplied by the mod author for you (depending on the method of packaging).
1. Open BCUT
2. Go to Options
3. Click on Automatic button (to be sure you're pointing to the right direction)
4. Switch to BC Tools -> Mod Installer
5. Click on Extract Archive and navigate to the downloaded mod archive (zip, rar or 7z or any other type of archive). Program extracts mod contents itself from the archive.
6. Select Documentation to view and press View Documentation
7. Select Mod installation option (if available to choose from) in the listbox and press Install Mod (mod is now properly copied to your BC Folder)
8. Switch to BCSMC and from the dropdown combobox (ship filename) select the name of the script file
9. Press Generate Plugin
If needed head over to BCUT homepage (http://www.bcs-tng.com/portal/?q=bcsmc) to obtain the latest BCUT which is 1.6.1 or use the check for updates feature on your existing BCUT and follow instructions.
Now for the current problem:
1. Foundation not installed (you can use the Foundation installation options within BCUT)
2. You did not activate mutators. If you did install Foundation then most likely you didn't do that.

Just wanted to say thank you for your help. I couldn't get the Bjorg ship to work but i'll try some other ships .
I'm printing this page for reference.
Thanks again!

Have you checked that you installed the foundation or checked the mutators? If unsure how to do it, you can ask...

My ships were missing after installing tehm after installing other mods. I got them to show up by using the plugin creator from the top tab in bcut 1.7 I highlighted the relevant ships from the pull down menus and gave the ships a name , but I had to write a " ship descripton" from the first link "description" under on the left lower colums of text links.
If I didn't add a ship description then BCUT 1.7 says: "I didn't fill out all the appropriate feilds"
After doing this for all ships I instlled the ships showed up.
morra.
