Title: BCFiles- New owner
Post by: deadthunder2_0 on February 12, 2010, 07:10:51 PM
I for one hate the idea

from my post on the news

The worst part is that those sites are very sensationalist, I went to chikapedia, and saw their lil hottest sifi women post, and thought T'pol would be on the list, but no they followed the bandwagon and wet with a avatar woman.

hopefully Goody won't close the comment thread now whining about negative criticism

I agree, this is info from gamers that break needs to get, if they don't listen, they will not get along here. yay, the roll-up adverts are gone, and the full screen ones seem to be gone, but the black bar doesn't compliment BC Files at all, it has a mustard yellow and light gray trend, the link bar doesn't fit in.

The site will die a slow death, just like BCU. Filefront never recovered from the closing scare, and is slowly coming back, but this might hinder that.

More on that stuff as it develops.

nope, we need all the info yall have on how yall are going to change FF, if it is a paid membership, then byebye. If you bring BC back into it's hayday, then great, just don't crap up the sites

It's too early to tell if whatever direction this new ownership takes BCFiles/Filefront will be successful or not, so I'll hold off judging this new management for a while. On the other hand this is 2nd time there has been a change in ownership in less than a year, that's got to say something bad about the status of Filefront in general...

The first change was it being bought back by its original owners and founders when ZD dropped it, which was because of ZD's bankruptcy. It had nothing to do with the status of Filefront.

Just to clarify, those of us who volunteer to maintain the FF sites (including BCFiles) on a day to day basis are still here.  only the network owner is changing.  Most likely we won't notice any differences on the network sites.

If they do start making major changes, I'll eat my hat.

Ad-blocker is awesome  :D

@ Deadthunder, just give it some time, the buy was only announced yesterday, too soon to tell if it'll be good or bad for the network.

Don't forget that BCFiles isn't the ONLY site on FileFront. I'd rather have it black everywhere than grey or yellow here, and the same on the dark blue setting of the Halo2files.
