I'm assuming, from the rest of the punny Klingon registry names, that it has the derogatory meaning in mind. been trying to find the py those are hiding in to have a chuckle...till I ran into that.

While I agree in thinking that the KM team didn't have any derogatory meaning in mind when they entered ship names, I can see where KCS is coming from. @Neb maybe you can ask Defiant to change it for the next version of KM. If KCS found it offensive there maybe others who have simply not spoken up.

I agree that there are some less than acceptable names there, even if they were made to sound Klingon. But it shouldn't be enough to offend anyone. Neb hit it right on the nail. After the first few names, looks like the original creator got bored.

they ran out of words long before they Klingonized words like "pootie tang". when they name a ship "Capische?"(Yaj'A), they cleaned out the klingon dictonary.
I just went over the other lists. I think the borg designations are area codes and zip codes, and the cardy ones appear to be welsh words.

:funny You can tell a 14 year old made this list. A lot is funny but some just doesn't work or is inappropriate.

If someone is offended by it, clearly they're not ready for browsing the internet. Otherwise, we might as well just start giving ship blank registries because there's too much of a chance someone would get insulted by pretty much anything.
It is not about privelages, it is about awareness. There are no such thing as "N word privelages", and if there were a word in there (The Klingon list) that resembled it, it would just as easily be argued that it was generated using Latin, from where the derogatory version originated, which is also the far more likely explanation. If you go to any random word generator you're bound to stumble upon something you perceive as offensive, as there are only so many combinations of letters possible when you limit it to 15 letters max.
I don't quite get what you mean by "New Korea"? As in, where all the mods are starting to come from? Never seen a korean mod before. :wtf

as far as the point of this thread goes, neb pointed out where to find all the names of ships - if anyone finds them distatseful or offensive, they can change their installs... (altho that would kill MP, but then youd have to decide which is more important to you...)

Aye, Bones, with typicall for himself irony, gave the ship name of HMS Bounty, kinda weird that red lettering is only visible while it's landed on Volcan, then in various shots, letter just disappear, I guess I didn't want to get one and only BoP model get messed with terran name cuz they would have to repaint it... lazyness or low budget :wtf

Jimmy, all you'd have to do is edit the offensive name in the existing list (which I shoudla done, but I didn't know where the names were). this also gives me a couple ideas, myself. i think I'm gonna set up the JJverse ships seperately, and apply that "race def" trick with them.
note: really, they threw the TVH gag in? never had that crop up.
