Can BC (or atleast the MPE) run on an Ipad? I know some macs are able to run windows programs. If we haven't reached the point where our phones exceeded BC's base specs we will soon lol.
-
The iPad is a larger, glorified iPod Touch. They run on the same OS actually, so it's pretty unlikely you'll get BC or the MPE working on it...
-
The iPad uses a custom Apple processor unit. The Macs that can run windows programs use Intel Processors. plus the iPad only has a 1 gig processor. Its still not on the same level as a even semi-modern computer. Too bad! It would sure be cool :D

so even on the windows 7 version of the ipad BC wouldn't run because it's not an intell processor?
-
Watch out for Tablets with an Intel Atom CPU. They should be able to.
-
windows 7 version of the iPad wha? are you talking about a hackintosh?
do as Defiant said.
-
BC uses DirectX for rendering. Mobile devices use only OpenGL, so BC for now can't run on phones or pads. I believe MPE can run on Ipad, because (i think) uses an old OpenGL renderer. And i think the cpu can handle that complex calculations ;)
-
As long as it runs Windows it has DirectX.
-
No. It depends and what the gpu supports.
-
Then in wouldn't run windows...would it?
MS is really eager in its deployment of DirectX.

BC was made in a time without GPUs

I have to rofl at this because that is completely and utterly untrue.

Well not very commonly in computers, BC runs off the CPu
-
well if they could run BC, how would you controll your ships and such?

LOL that's only for processing info not the graphical side of the system/game... GPU's have been around a long time before BC.....
Never heard of ATI's old "Rage Pro" for example or later Nvidia's "GeForce 2" that was released in 2000?
I've used many in the past years.
Only way I see ya not knowing about them is the use of on board GFX chips on the motherboard. (common still today for prebuilt systems by HP and others)
but I feel this is getting way off topic lol the question has already been answered here.

In short - no.
The iPad runs iOS the same os of the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Take a look at the HP Slate. Windows 7.
Posted from my iPad!

If you are saying that the GeForce 2 don't work with BC you are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay wrong because i think that my PC uses this one and the BC work very very nice i have a bunch of mods and a lots of looking good ships and planets that i looked a lot of people saying the make the game crash or i keeps making the game lag.
-
LOL no I'm not saying that... I was saying that GFX cards have been around WAY before BC... I was countering a previous statement.
also if your pc uses one... that makes me wonder how old yours is now.
