When was the FAQ made, because some of that info is faulty.
Q. Can you have animated models in Bridge Commander?
A. No it is not supported by Bridge Commanders Graphics engine.

The information isn't faulty, it's just severely outdated. That FAQ was made in 2002 and hasn't been updated since.

Untrue, bc cheated in animations, its not really animations...
-
It is the illusion of being animated, hense animation, if it looks animated, then in my book it is.
Every constitution since the ol pack by Phaser had them, and the CG Sov has them. im sorry i meant out of date, but faulty was the word that came to mind.

you're thinking of the wrong animation... what that question is talking about is physical model animation... not texture.
-
Well can't FTech do just that with the right trigger?
I think LC's voyager could, but I may be wrong.
-
the thing is... it uses 3 sep models and it has to be triggered in specific events... and it can't be continuous... it isn't a proper animation system. (IE being forcibly done)
but in any event this is getting off topic.

3E's Intrepid bridge doesn't use multiple models to make the console flip out when going to yellow/red alert - there are two animation NIF's in the "Animations/BP" folder and that's all I can find that make the thing move (besides the script). I don't know if this qualifies as a "true" animation or not by the standards Maxloef and Nebula seem to be outlining, but it seems that way to me...

ok animations work in bridges for BC (as programed) but they were never enabled for the ship side.
