Uninstall and try QTLite (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QT_Lite.htm) instead.

Also, Quicktime... on Vista?  :funny

Sorry couldn't resist. :dance

Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer -> Custom Views -> Administrative Events -> Locate errors related to QT and post them here.

Also QuickTime does work without any problems on Vista.

the only error report im getting is from Toon Boom, the program im trying to run, for some reason its not generating a report on the QT player.. the tray icon is still there after the player "crashes", windows goes through its classic error reporting but nothing shows in the event viewer about it.... really weird.

but below is the report about Toon Boom.... i think its cuz my display is too small

why does that seem to be the general consensus about ANYTHING apple makes these days..... it works untill you try to actually use it.
worse yet, their support SUCKS

Why does it seem that I've never had issues with these players other than the fact that I needed another to play a format it didn't support?
I think it's fine.

I don't even use iTunes, it's slow, makes the comp crap out. I use the CopyTrans Suite.

Yes but it's great for downloading updates to your iPod or in my case iPhone.  Which reminds me I still need to do that :S

Last bit I'm saying!

They still make them, it's a 2010 year model, and is 160 GB so it is not that old. Battery life is like the HTC Thunderbolt... it sucks...
