Title: Nemesis Interface WIP
Post by: CDR_Daxian on September 23, 2012, 11:34:49 PM
to the Moderators and Admins, Please Delete this Topic as I have created a WIP thread in BC Modding.

I haven't been on BC-Central for a while now. I got really disouraged by my last few attempts at modding. The BCGR mod was a huge, obvious fail right from the start. and then I thought "well, at least I can look back on my successful mod, the Gen Bridge Retex". I then went to BCFILES and tried downloading it, only to find that the file was deleted. for all three verions.

so I'm like   :bitch: :( :eek :idk:   :bluescreen:

I later bought a mac (I know, I have moved to the dark side). but a few months after I had it, I got VMware Fusion and Migrated my old PC (the one with BC) to a Virtual Machine.

after a few tweaks to the sharing and the drivers for my VM, BC worked/s perfectly. I played a stock SP game, just for the hell of it. at that Moment I was like SUCCESS!

so now I am trying to mod again, but Grade 10 Highschool is taking its toll of homework on me. add to the fact that I manage the school's iPads/Kobo eReaders.

This probably won't get any replies, but I just wanted to make sure that the admins won't boot me out. I never really wanted to leave the BC Community. It's just hard managing it with Real-Life. (yeah, that)

I'm also wondering is this has ever been attempted before. Bridge Commander on a MacBook Pro 2011 running Vmware fusion 4.1.3.

Welcome back we need all the modders we can get.

Never be discouraged, it takes awhile to get a popular mod. Unless your build a super acurate Enterprise, Defiant, Voyager etc then people will be fickle. And if you do build a canon ship then they'll nitpick you to distraction.

Build what you want for you first, this will save you pulling your hair out.

Also, take small steps, like shuttles first, or a small ship, we all learn in progressive steps. Keep pluggin away at it

thanks for the tips guys. for now, I think I'll try to rebuild my nemesis interface. (like, just changing the colors of the Main BC buttons/menus)

simple modification of RGB255 values in the "Interface.py" script.

And thanks to Baz and I, most of those have been built.  :D

I (for the life of me) will probably never learn how to model ships. one thing I don't have the money. second: the comprehension level required is (to me) astronomical. though it probably isn't.

If I had to say, my specialty would probably be graphics editing. (Bridge retextures, logos, Interface editing). I can also straighten out weapons status icons to look accurate with the hardpoint editor, but that's easy.

Several times over. :p

Dax, focus on your strengths if you want and dabble with the rest as you feel like it.

If you don't have the money for software, use Blender. Here is a great website that shall teach you how to use it as well as showing what it's capable of. It's free, but by god is it fudging powerful!!

Compatibility issue with the nif plugin but as long as you have the old 4.9 release or whatever it was from a few years ago you'll be fine. An updated version is in progress for Blender 6.X though it shouldn't be long now.

Okay, I think I've got a list.

Fairly simple stuff (at least that's what I think)

UPDATE: Starting The Nemesis Interface Proj. Using XCode to edit RGB values.
