New Bridge Commander Files?

Anyone ever think about recreating the old Bridge Commander files site? I know it's kind of hard to do without a database site like FileFront or GameFront, but, I have to say, I miss being able to type in bcfiles.com into my address bar, and going to that grey and gold page, and seeing all the amazing mods that have been created over the decade and half of this game's lifespan. It was so convenient going to just the one spot. Defy Media really shouldn't have ousted the pages....

Anyway - just me kind of thinking about things...

That is incorrect. They have their "Free" servers, and their "Premium" servers. Difference being that Premium offers a higher download speed.

Umm... When you download from NexusMods, it pops up a screen that tells you that you can "pay for" Premium access, which gives higher download speed. By default, you access the Free server when downloading off NexusMods.

Not if it's more than 20mb, I have had issues with them before over No Man's Sky mods. So unless you have a browser I don't. I have no idea how you are getting that site to work. Thank You.

I use the Chrome browser. As a test, I just downloaded the "BC Supermod" (295MB), at about 1mb/sec (free server).

I also never had problems with Nexus trying to switch to premium servers using Firefox.

When you try to download a file, this popup window should show up:

Downloading file

Your file is being prepared for download from the content delivery network...

Download not starting? Please enable javascript and HTTP redirects in your browser and ensure you aren't running any plugins that might stop these from loading (Adblockers, NoScript, etc.)

With a selection of optional premium servers below that.
The download does actually start automatically at that point for me.

Let's stay on topic.

I'm thrilled to see that someone archived all of the GameFront archives onto Nexus Mods. Definitely going there for all the older stuff that was posted. Seems like everything (even my Poseidon class and Aegean Class) made onto that site. -squee-

But still, would like to see the FileFront sites resurrected.... in defiance of Defy Media's shutting them down. The only thing that irks me is that, they've slaved all of the old filefront urls to their garbage site.... guess they're trying to generate traffic. Which is funny, because, they shut down the filefront sites for that very reason - decreased traffic.
