I call this piece "Parallel Beauty"

Just because something is in lower poly doesn't mean it is exempt from respect and care, and the Excalibur(P81) is no exception. Yes thats WC's Excelsior.

Here is a screenshot, its from an upcoming fan film I am writing called Star Trek: Vigilance (the anomaly in this image is actually a 0 speed torpedo fired from the Vigilance hehe)

Yes, it is indeed the Polaris class with a modified texture. The escape pods IMO were hideous, so I replaced them. I think it turned out rather nice :)

I believe I took the pods from the Excelsior-A

Tethys, where were you when I was texturing the Polaris? It's been out for a few years.

Heh, hello legend :)

I am a big fan of your work. I've been lurking. I really wasnt much of a texturer until only a few years ago.. I would say my abilities have stepped up high enough to at least be of some benefit nowadays. Nice to meet you, btw. I really do love your ships. I hope you don't mind that I edited the texture a bit.. added some windows.. some hull markings... tits and tats. Photoshop is getting easier by the day :D

Huh? It's not that old is it? Could have sworn you only built it last year.

Not trying to muddy up this topic, but Wiley you should have made a bridge dome for the Polaris, I tried to texture one in and it looks "ok" but it just doesnt look like it should. Great ship though, I admire your work very much. I was wondering if maybe we could use your design in the new KM update? :)

(as you can see my window texturing needs a little bit of work but from a distance it looks pretty good)

You might be able to see the windows I added for 10 forward in this image (if you scroll right) ;)

You wouldnt happen to know how to make animated nacelles would you? I seen a Sovereign class somewhere that had them.. oh I cant remember the name now but the bussard scoops were animated. Looking for bussard and warp coil animation, it would look really nice :)

You, need either 3D max version 3 with the original BC plug in or there is a long winded method you can do with NIF skope. I know Nix was working on that method. I personally used Max 3 as it is also the only software to export bridges.

While Im here, might as well share what I'm working on now.. Eximus retexture 1024 (from 512) because I feel 2048 is too large for such a lightly played ship... the model is a bit screwy, so the texture doesnt line up perfect... going to take some clever texture manipulation to look right, but I think I can do it.. just going to take a few weeks lol
