Bones: I think it is just the same principle, but with more maps. This is just in .gif format, I assume just to show me and jb what its supposed to look like!

That means that the end result won't be so smooth.. animated panels in bc usually only have a few frames, if I'm not mistaken 3 or 4 are standard. A shame, really, this looks great.

Well, the animated maps tutorial thing I read the other day implied that you can have as many seperate maps as you like. It just may cause slight lag

just because the previous bridges have only had 4 -5 max ... doesnt mean on new bridges that we have to stick to that limit

O ... right my bad I thought this gif can be applied to console  yes it is a shame we can't get at least 20 frames anims, tho it would be pain in a$$ to make 20 maps tho.

That's only half of it.. say you have a 1024x1024 map you want animated - that's 20 1024x1024 24 bit tga's to keep in video memory for just one console. You see the problem..

hey guys been a while since i last posted an update...

Bad news first tho. Lightmapping is still at 35%

good news tho. Ive just finished the new GUI's ive been working on. Posted are comparison shots taken from renders of the  model showing first the improved GUI's and then the old ones.

And another set of updates... When looking through my screen caps to create a new set of GUI's i noticed that there are actually minor changes to the set at least 3 times through its use onscreen. so ive created the textures for each varient but i will still need to make at least one minor mesh adjustment for 2 of these varients.

here are some screenies

Cheers

There are actually a couple of other changes that are gonna happen between the original 303 and the refit and upgrade (yup, thats 3 seperate bridges!). Sean has already done the screens colour change, there is also a change of colour in some of the lights around the bridge, from blue to white. Both of those take effect on the change from the original to the refit. For the upgrade, the light on the front of the helm and tactical stations join together to form one light (also white).

Very impressive texturing, Sean! Looking very good indeed. I'm curious - did you actually draw the entire panels yourself? They look very canon to the show.

I think on some of them, he used some screencaps.

http://www.stargatecaps.com/sg1/s7/713/html/Grace%5F0173.html

that one as you can see 4th image down is practically the same, except from a few parts.

I'm sure you'll all be thrilled to hear that Sean has now finished the lightmapping :D. As soon as the transfer is complete, I will bodge some scripts together and test the lighting ingame. Expect an update soon!

Damn. Theres nothing like having your excitement mount and mount, then plummeting back to Earth like.....well, like something..... I don't know! Despite mine and Seans best efforts, we have been unable to get the 303 to work ingame :(. Chances are it'll be a few days before it works. However, from some of the renders I have taken, it looks absolutely stunning! Kudos to Sean on the excellent work on it!

Wow, things move fast in the world of modding! I have some good new and some bad news. Sean has managed to get it to work! Sort of. There are 2 textures that currently arn't showing up. Sean has given up for the night and will resume work ASAP (his words )! So after my fall from grace (^^) only 20 minutes ago, I am now on a high again!

Behold!

Before you say anything, I know. The bridge is back to front and the crew are in the complete wrong place. The former can be sorted out in about 5 seconds flat, and the latter is because the script I used to get the bridge ingame was a slightly modified (ie changing the name of the model and texture path) Intrepid bridge script! Like I said, it was bodged together!

Just noticed the star chart at the back. I had a feeling that tranparency wouldnt work so well in BC. Ahwell. Still looks awesome.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

It might just be the angle and the fact that parts of the bridge doesn't seem to want to work at the moment. We'll have to wait until Sean can work out the last (hopefully) few bugs.

It all depends on how you setup the opacity mask.
It worked at the excalibur bridge. Was hard to make it right, but it works.

yea it was a pain in the a** to get the texture working right, had to edit the texture a couple of times to get it to display correctly, but setting it up in max wasnt too difficult
