@ Jimmy sorry, yeh was just getting ticked off with people saying that lc's textures are fine and they were completely swamping the thread thats got nothing to do with my project.

finally, please dont drag BCS into this and make mention of it in the manner you just did...  i, for one, have great and immense respect and admiration for LC and may be one of those "kiss butters" of his you referred to, so life wont be any easier for you there than it would be here...

I also have immense respect to lc. i'm not dissing lc, his textures are great there's no question about it, I just want it like i've said several times now for like ths cgi in the show. Also just felt that people were gangin up because like you said lc is a legend, tad unfair.

Well i've adjusted for example the colour of the hull, the rcs thrusters, the sensor palets, nacelles, escape pods, deflectors, hull panelling and loads more so generally most things.

They are brand new textures so most parts are different.

Well actually i watched lc's progress when making the intrepid, i'm not saying that the model and textures are a pile of s**t, I said he done an outstanding job, I just want textures that look like the show... CGI, not the model, as the series used the CGI model more than the studio model.
just wanted to add something before you do something more in the textures:
if you want the textures for LC's ship like those in the CGI version, there might be some differences in the final look, since LC copied the studio model. and you're applying "Mk 2" textures over a "Mk 1" model. had to put it that way so you can see the difference
it's not rare to be confusing when someone talks about CGI and there are both CGI and model variants of a ship.
in the end, it's Paramount's builders mistake if they didn't reproduce the studio model correctly, not yours, not LC's either.

hawk is right,
when i was doing the defiant i came across this pic which shows how much they can differ from each other!
Another fine example of paramounts model/cgi department

Yeh, the cgi defiant was very different to the studio model, but i don't think that the cgi voyager model was that badly done. yes there are afew errors like the size of the engineering section and a tad on the main deflector, but they are barely noticeable.

I guess the colour is "steel grey".

Before anything, yes, i'm ignoring the off topic discussion after my post and will not mention it, and thanks jimmy for the moderating job while i was on the flight to here (away from home), and will pretend nothing was said, otherwise i'll have to start enforcing some hard moderating here and it's something i would gladly avoid.

There are some other major errors and things that do not fit like the top saucer main phaser arrays (check my front comparsion shot). Nighthawk has a strong point, but i dont think it'll influence the final look of your mod, it'll just became an hybrid, not 100% to one or another, just fitting better the different tastes of people.

Just to let anyone no who's interested, all the textures should be finished off tommorrow, which is sort of today if you live in the uk :P with new specs and alpha's so get ready to give your opinion on the cgi retexture.

I'm gonna have to be honest here...

I can't actually spot any differences.  Are the lifeboats beveled a bit more?

Could you point out the changes.  A side by side would be helpful.

Are you sure that the retexture is also compartible with the LC Intrepid in KM1.0?
And thanks for the comparison above.

Lol i put the wrong emoticon DJ was supposed to be supposed :P as i was only joking.

Yes it is compatible with the km1 version... i might see if i'm allowed to include the script which goes in the custom/ships py so the nacelles can move, but you will have to have km1 to have it as the ftech alone is still not available.

I'm also going to include a new type 9 which can be seen here, though it needs resizing and hping if this is the size it is supposed to be.( look at the 2nd screencap below)

EDIT: I'VE REMOVED THE IMAGE INCASE as it seems i converted the wrong type 9. until i can get hold of brex, the image will stay off

Does anyone know if thats the right size? im talking about the screencap, not screenshot so then i can resize the type9

based on that screenshot, indeed it does, to about 1/2 of it's current size.

They both are good but I prefer the CG model over the studio model. I will say sorry to LC too :) , but nonetheless your model is great :)

Thanks guys, remember i havent altered the model, just brand new textures, which i think you know, just wanted to clarify before another world war breaks out ;)

BTW the type which i thought was this

http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/screenshots/File/55557/1

it's not actually that. I converted it over a year ago and thats why i thought it was that one, but it turns out its chief brex's from sfc3. So until i can get hold of him i'll take the screenies off.
