I don't know how many but there is Guinness.

I doubt McCoy just goes for any ol' Kentucky bourbon or Tennessee whiskey.  Nor do I believe Scotty would go for just any ol' Scotch.

Also, note that Uhura orders a "Budweiser Classic"...sorta reminiscent of Coca-cola.  I wonder if they have "Diet Cherry Vanilla Budweiser" in the 23rd Century. :P

probably something like "Budweiser Classic: The Original King of Beers........ now try our new Budweiser Blue, brewed with Andorian Hopps for that out of this world taste!" lol

We'd better hush before Budweiser gets any ideas. :P

BTW, I find it interesting that we've heard Trek reviews from Kevin Smith and George Lucas, but not from one of the other Sci-Fi greats...where's the review from Joss Whedon already?! :P

Whedon made one short lived but great series, and a movie, with a potential new season and an MMORPG possibility. ;) Whedon is a new generation guy, so no doubt it'd just spur more raeg in this thread (misprint intended for the internet uninformed).

...Probably not, but the number I get(379.6m) could be considered ?original intent,? a term that I think I will be using from now on, and ?canon? be damned.

Notice how the bridge wasn't on its own level? There was a deck outside...
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

huh??

yes the bridge seemed to be on deck 2 not deck 1...
it's because they wanted the bridge to have a window...

  • I'm actually making stuff! :D
I like the new position of the bridge.  Not the top-top, but second from the top.  I bet the top top is a sensor dome now.  Harder to blow off now.
Kinda like an aircraft carrier.  Has a good view up top, but not right on top.  Still can get broadsided though.

Bridge position never sat well with me anyways, it was one thing I always didn't like about Star Trek and Star Wars ships.  Let's make our command center, the very nerve center for the entire ship with almost all of our important people, right on top of the ship and very visible.  Bah! :P

guys (again) please keep the thread ontopic about the movie itself, or elements within the movie specifically...

What more is there to talk about?? we've gone over almost everything....
how about the continuation of this movie in the form of the sequels?

Speaking of the sequel... there is an article over at Trekmovie where JJ goes over it.
JJ Talks Sequel + release in Mexico

I don't see this thread getting anymore interesting until after the DVD's are released

If anything, making the sequels subtitled instead of a number seems suitable. It's a new Trek, and I suppose in a way JJ doesn't want to dominate the numbers. :P

And is JJ really small? Cos he's roughly Saldana's height but he looks even smaller...

Posting concept art from the so-called "USS Iowa" bridge, both at normal lighting and Red Alert lighting. This bridge was ofcourse used in the movie for the USS Kobayashi Maru simulator. Perhaps best suited for a new topic at some point, but could also be an idea for the possible bridge modellers out there. The Kobayashi Maru bridge I thought looked great in the movie, whereas the Enterprirse bridge was a bit too bright. Perhaps due to the excessive use of lens flares (which I hope they do away with in the sequels)

Holy hell that is wicked. Blows every bridge I've ever seen out of the water, and I actually really liked the Kelvin's. I mean as a complete bridge and not a cutaway simulation room. And that red alert lighting!
