Yeah, I'm pretty convinced despite the lack of imagery- this looks like Gabriel Koerner's Enterprise, which as far as I'm concerned, is the sexiest interpretation of the TOS-era Enterprise that I've yet seen. This will resonate throughout the community, and will bring new interest from fledgling Trekers, that aren't so easily disillusioned with new things.

Yeah I took closer look to the model on Youtube and on several pics of the model and I have to admit it looks far better than original connie to me, tho the hull looks kinda dark unlike the original and refit connie which were pearl white. I rather like this ship be lighter than it is now... anyways it is really cool

Modelers, compare the posted image to this pic, and tell us what you think: http://www.gabekoerner.com/ent/entview_front.jpg

It's not impossible that Gabe Koerner did the model for Trek XI. This pic certainly implies that they used the same look, if not the same design.

If you ask me, whole model is just the same but the bridge dome, you can clearly see that Gabe Koerners model has taller and narrower dome, the model on pic has smaller dome tho the saucer below the bridge dome is taller.

I must admit that makes me hungry of more :D,

The first time I read of the new trek film and his story, I was a bit sceptic, but we will see.
I will definatly watch the film when it comes out, and not till then I will form an opinion :)

And yes, it have some similarities with gabriel koerner's Enterprise, but definatly say you can first,
when you see the hole model.

something diffrent, somehow it doesn't look like to be built on space, or are these just my eyes... :?

I love it, if they can pull off ST:XI well, my faith in non-fanbased Trek will be restored.

Oh wow, that is sweet. It definetly does look like GK's connie to me.
All hail the messiah!

does anyone think the structure of the enterprise would snap?, (warp pylons, neck/saucer) if it was built on earth?,
considering how thin the neck is and the size/weight of the saucer?,

apart from that, it looks good.

Indeed, I'd imagine there'd be a significant possibility of the saucer simply snapping off, so this scene really doesn't make very much sense to me... though there are other ways to build a ship (like inside a sealed asteroid, where the segments of the ship are held in place by some mechanical thingies or whatever, and the ship is released from said mechanical thingies when it's completed, and shoved out into open space? :P Just a vague thought, anyways.

But yeah, she looks very pretty. I like this idea for the new (old?) enterprise. :)

Yeah, but try explaining to the fanatics why that's a good thing...

Actually I don't think so, I'm not Trek tech expert but wouldn't those ships be fitted with some kind of force fields reinforcing structural integrity ??? that would make sense to me.

Looks fine to me :D
You can actually see hull plating on this one compared to the original :P
But I do hope they haven't changed it to much because I think the hull shape must be close to the refit connie, in my opinion. :?

But nevertheles i'm really looking forward to see more :)

You are absolutely correct. All ships have a Structural Integrity Field which basically keeps the ship in one piece while ascending/descending through the atmospheres of planets as well as in space. Add to that, that in space you have a deflector field around the ship keeping spacedust from making rather large holes in the hull. The ship doesn't look very frail to me.

I wonder now if they changed the overall look of the external ship model, will they change interiors also ? it would look kinda weird to have big buttons and levers or TNG like consoles instead of something more advanced than enterprise displays, in my opinion they should mix TMP-TOS-ENT styles in this ship to achieve good effect equivalent to model.

yeah, in an interview with the set designer they said they re-did the interior.

This is the Star Trek XI Trailer from the movie "Cloverfield", bad quality, but anyway :)

I second that! Damn straight that guy is a genius.
