I like the direction where this is going but the nacelles look a tad too "bulky" ;)

I disagree.  With the basic design Aeries has been using all along, I think it fits.

The ship has always been bulky. But that's her charm.

Lol, thanks guys. Yeah, I'm just adding my wishful masculine bulk to the ship since I clearly can't get it on my biceps. xD

Small updated: Added aft torpedos and detailed the exhaust manifold. :)

I need some input from you guys. No matter how hard I try, I just can't start the saucer section for the fraking LIFE of me. :( So I need some ideas... as many as possible. How would you guys go about starting off the saucer section? It would REALLY help if you explained it in steps, too. Just saying. I'm only asking because I've been trying my butt off for about two weeks and it always comes out as the epitome of junk... :(

Are you going to have a elongated Saucer kinda like the Intrepid class ships etc? Cause a Oval/Circle Saucer would look bad with that secondary hull.

Yup! As with every Mithra variant so far, that's what I'll be making. I wanted to do a shuttle bay similar to the Titan, in how it's inset into the hull with some really neat lines and so on. I was also thinking, that with those lines, I'd improve the overall shape by having it sweep in a cleaner manner and mesh nicely with the saucer section, so it would be sleeker and generally nicer to look at. But it's frustrating 'cause I have no idea how to put all these ideas together; Nothing I've tried so far works and spline cages so far haven't offered up much in the realm of usefulness. THey could be used to get the most basic idea, but that's about it. :/ Unless I'm doing something totally wrong...

Anywho, any input from the experienced modelers is immensely appreciated. Lord knows my credits list in the readme will be a mile long. :P

Sorry for the double-post in advance... it's been a while though.

have been working on refining the secondary hull and I think after a little bit of chamfering a few sharp edges, it'll be done tonight. I've gotten a small start on the saucer section too. if anyone has any ideas for the basic shape or design let me know; I'm completely open to ideas.

edit: I'm also thinking I'll be bringing back the old nacelles but with some major refinements and additions. they'll look bloody fantastic, i promise. >:3

Ooh! So preetttty (damn you for your moddeling skills :P). I find that wibbley pattern under the saucer odd though...

I'd recommend a quantum torpedo launcher on the underside of the saucer. And some sort of hull paneling on top of the saucer...

It's starting to come off like a late 24th century Excelsior variant without a neck. And I like that. Perhaps you can do the nacelle scheme along with that line and have the rear half of the secondary hull flattened with the Nacelles resting on top? Then a nice cargo bay on the rear end :P. It would look radical.

Nice, I agree with Dalek. Perhaps one like the Enterprise had in All Good Things on the underneath of the saucer?
