BC has boldly gone where no trek game has gone before.
thats great.
We have wonderful ships, looking like cgi, wonderful mods that give a really trekish feeling
and we have adapted voices from the series.
and that's the point (imo)
Don't know if this idea was already there once, couldn't find anything promising, what about making really new ones?
2 female Voices, 4-5 male voices and then, record new voice files to the existing text lines.

If there was already a topic, pls forgive me mods, I really searched ;)
so what about that idea??

An interesting idea with merit. I toyed around with recording new voice overs a while back but it just didn't seem believable. One thing's for sure I'd love to get rid of saffi's sound files lol.  :lol:

I wanted it for the New Frontier project but i couldn't get support so I've defaulted back to a mix of on screen Text and stock sounds....

sometime onscreen text sounds a bit strange, someone says something and you get the familiar background sounds and a roar of an impulse engine in the background

good idea but this time Legacy was first. 

We made a whole new Campaign in our Trek Battles 2 Mod, with a new storyline, new dialogues and stuff.

But i think this would be great in BC, too!!  8)

I've got an idea. Why not replace Saffi's voice with captain Picards voice saying red alert for example so it's like the captain is actually speaking when you choose red alert. It wold give greater interaction to the bridge. So like when you tell helm to intercept it could go
Capt: "Helm intercept course"
Kiska: "Aye sir"
I think it would be possible. I'd have a go myself if someone can point me to a site with loads of voice clips from ST.

The trouble is that you'd need a good setup to pull it off...a decent mic and mixer and the program to master it all. I hope the use of a bog standard desktop mic and Sound Recorder isn't what's in mind  :lol:

Would be good to see. Then we can post a copy off to Activision and say, "hey, look....this is what we really wanted in the first place!"

Well i've got a decent mic. I very good soundcard (Audigy 2 PlEx) and some decent software so I think it may be possible. Anyway why would you need a mic?
